Umpire farce - Getting worse by the minute!

Maybe Richmond supporters should start writing to Umpire House en masse pointing out the discrepancies and umpire bias against us this year and including detailed examples. It wouldn't do any harm and it might give them something to think about.

Leysy finds blaming the umpiring a cop out when our team had 34 less tackles than the opposition.

Hopefully the coaching staff see it the same way.

Judging by Dimmas post match, I think he knows the score Leysy.

You reckon they deserved all the frees they got? Did you think they paid all the frees we deserved?

I think most people are saying that a combination of bad umpiring and bad play cost us the game rather than purely blaming the umpiring.

Exactly.

Yes we were poor today but the umpires didnt help our cause one bit.

Reverse the free kick count and we could have won by a goal or two.

How can you Ley a tackle when you have copped an illegal move? Bottom line is that they were smarter than us in taking the rules of the game to the limit (or even over it) without getting pinged.

Reading kiwi's previous post it seems the commentary teams on at least 2 different radio stations shared the same opinion. Maybe they have a conspiracy against Tiger fans...or maybe they're a tad less biased than we are. :headscratch
Sorry Rosy, the fact that the commentators from 2 radio stations shared the same opinion, only means that they placed bets on Freo and were happy with the result.

Dwayne "the goose" Russell, showed throughout his commentary on Fox that he must have placed a bet on Freo.

The maggots were deplorable. 6 free kicks to 16 at half time. And then Richmond got the first 6 after half time, 6 dubious frees obviously paid to try to even up the count, which they obviously reviewed at half time.

I don't think that they were bias, just incompetent.

Why didn't they pay a 50m penalty with a couple of minutes to go, after Robby Nahas got a free or a mark, and the Freo guy kicked it away after the decision was made? The maggot was standing right next to the Freo player that kicked the ball away.

I just watched the Bummers get done, and it was obvious that BT had a sizable bet on Essendon, by his bias commentary as the bummers kicked a few goals to get close.

These commentary so-and-so's should not be allowed to bet on a game of footy, or mention betting agencies.

The AFL has prostituted itself by accepting money from betting agencies and by allowing clubs to do the same.

While betting by anyone who has anything to do with our game is allowed we will continually question the integrity of the sanctity of our great game.

How much extra bonus does the AFL CEO get, because of the increased profit that the AFL makes from footy bets?

I was disapointed that the umpires did not set an early standard by pinging the Fremantle players who made no attempt to
get the ball out of the pack.
This would have stopped the contant rolling stoppage sh!t that I had to watch today (and will not go and see again).

Ditto mate. That was absolute garbage. I happen to like rugby, but I don't go to AFL games to see a very poor imitation of it. KB is right. It's unwatchable.

As to the umpiring decisions, Freo easily got the rub of it, no doubt about it. I don't care what the commentators prattle-on about. We were shocking and didn't deserve to win, but that's a separate issue.

With all due respect Streak, there is no public or perceived perception that you influence any game of footy or Joe Public's perception of the game from what he reads in the press or hears in the media.

Good win for the fund by the way.

Yep. How many tackle counts have we won this year? Still an issue.

what a good post, could not have said it better myself, If Gary Lyon and co didn't have money on dockers winning the match then im the president of The untied states.

And anyone whom went to the game and thought the umpiring was good has NFI about football.

officially fed up watching AFL , seriously no other sport in the world has such *smile* poor amateur decisions, Unbelievable today was an absolute farce.

I was there at the game and have since watched most of the game on TV and believe that while all of the umpires made mistakes it was umpire no 17 who seemed to favour Fremantle. He seemed to ignore blatant frees to Richmond and pay the same infringements to Fremantle. The pathetic attempt by all umpires after half time to even up the free kick count made the problem more farcical as they had not been paying those soft frees to us all day.

I didn't see Friday night's match, but it was regularly brought up on the commentary on MMM (which is woeful across the board) that the way the umpires kept letting it go in the 'scrums' was in complete contrast to the match the previous night. The umpiring was poor and Richmond played poorly, a combination of the two caused the loss. The coaching staff can't do anything about the umpiring, because they pay no attention to any non positive criticism, but they can work on the playing side of things and that's what they have to do.

Just as I got over the Essendon umpireing farce along comes another just as bad. What a joke yesterday was.

Dennis " idiot " Commetti at one point said on triple M after the Richmond fans were going feral after yet another free going Freo's way said " I don't know what the tiger fans are carrying on about ." What a knob.

I agree so much with this. How on earth can our great game be taken serioulsy if the rules are changed every week?. Then the utterly amateur introduction of the video review system, with diiferent grounds having different numbers of cameras at the game, its either all the same or dont do it at all. As much as the umpires infuriate me, i probably am more annoyed with the power brokers who instruct the umpires "to cramp down on whatever this "rule of the week is".
