I'm sorry but if my boss split up with his mrs, I can't imagine my work performance would be affected one iota. This generation of football player really do live in their own bubble

Me either, but as is often said, football clubs aren’t like other workplaces.

I was punching on with blokes saying 'we haven't been the same since he spilt with his missus'
I would reply 'it's bullshiit don't listen to the *smile* Richmond haters spread'.

Then the rumour with Rance must be true.

This club always finds ways to derail itself.
Are we back in 1985 again??

Not sure what's going on now. Either Chimp is starting a cold war with Dimma or Dimma has succumbed and allowed Chimp to let it all out himself as a 3rd person and get it over and done with early via the media. Really bizarre!!
The 2020 hub melted alot of strong relationships inside and outside the club.
This isn't Adelaide camp badd but it's starting to get me angry.

Yeah agree, theres no doubt now that the era, the culture, the bond was broken in the hub. 2021 & 22 make more sense in this context and Dimma needed to go in 23. He knew that as much as anyone. Every era ends for different reasons.

I‘ve no problem with Cotch or Jack giving an honest assessment of what happened now they are out. They earned the right, I’ll buy both books. Good to see footy books that aren’t cookie cutter.

but fear I'll score them as a Christmas gift.

Fortuitous timing they both come out in October/November, or am I cynical?
ditto ... Jacks might be more interesting ?

not cynical - they've got stocking filler written all over them

Retired Richmond great Trent Cotchin has revealed the fallout from Damien Hardwick’s marriage breakdown impacted the club and his own relationship with the coach during the Tigers’ premiership defence in 2021.
In a new book, From the Heart, Cotchin said while he never liked to delve into personal relationships, he stressed it had been a difficult situation for the club to manage, particularly in the early stages.

There’s book$ to sell but sometimes I’d prefer these things stay out of the public eye. Sharing private details of a personal relationship is tacky IMHO.

3 out of 4 is pretty special, but given the players we had, their connections and game style, how far could they have gone, 4 is unheard of, 5 impossible.

It all comes to an end and at least we have 3 in the bag, just ask Doggies, Eagles and Dees supporters. Geelong are different.

Given Hardwick has left the club I have no problems with these books - we enter a new era with a few aging stars to guide the way.

@Little Ziggyadee - I think I owe you an apology as I scoffed that the time that Hardwicks split impacted on ground performance - it clearly did.

Yep. Not like he'd be struggling financially. But the mind-set these days is to wring out every last dollar, regardless of the non-financial 'costs'.

I was one of those that thought Hardwicks break up had no influence..
I was wrong too

Agree, keep it to footy
*why did you kick against the wind??
*was Rance asked to retire??
**was the loss to WC the end of the era.
**was the 2020 flag the best of the lot??
**What did he think of the kids that were coming through.
**Did the assistant coaches have a huge impact or was that just media beat up .
**Was the game plan set up in march of 2017 or when Hardwick gave up on playing Vickery & Griffens.
**Did you ever ask the recruiting team stop drafting Talls??
*Why did Castagna walk away??

That's the book I would read

No wonder there was so much deterioration in the Richmond man stuff. This is becoming more and more like Mean Girls gossiping now.
It would have had a big impact on Dusty as he faced major issues as well.
Cotchy is starting to sound like Prince Harry, feeding the press for personal gain.

Spare me.
