What an absolute Richmond legend. Was a privilege to watch his entire career.

Couple of observations. His pre captaincy individual performances were seriously elite. Went toe-to-toe with peak Gary Ablett Jnr and arguably won. We forget how good a player he was before taking on the captaincy. His personal highlights reel would be second to none.

The 2017 finals series. Do yourself a favor and watch the first quarter of the QF against Geelong. Never have I seen a player set the tone like Cotchin did that night. He hunted the Geelong players with such ferocious intent I’d bet a few of them still have nightmares about it.
