Trent Cotchin (Merged)

Controversial take. Reckon Trent’s top 10 highlights are better than any other tiger I’ve seen, Richo and Martin included. He is/was capable of some truly astonishing on field feats. Sacrificed a lot of his personal game for the team when he became captain which was a bit of a shame but ultimately for the greater good.

One other comment. Reckon Cotchin’s worst ever game of AFL came in the 2015 EF against North. The way he bounced back two years later in the 2017 finals series is a testimony to his great character and probably doesn’t get the credit it deserves. They say that some Geelong players still have nightmares of being hunted by #9 on that’s fateful Friday night.

Anyway, Congratulations on 300 glorious games Cotchin. You are truly a Tiger great.

There will be 300 game players even with as many premierships again BUT I guarantee you will never get a player who kicks over 1000 goals, 4th on all time list.

Two completely different players and careers

Sorry but what has that got to do with what I posted.

The point I was making was that I hoped Trent was lauded the same way as Buddy.

I wasn't comparing one as to the other.!!!!

And to think that they could have played in the same side

He’s certainly come a long way from the shy kid who had to have someone from the club sit with him at the sponsors dinner in his first year. Not as a minder but more of conversationalist to help him talk to the rest of us on the table. Robbie Nahas was on the same table and had no such issues. Nahas was a ripping bloke.

Has anyone sent a ‘thank you’ card to Carltoon?

If we had pick one, would we still have taken him?

Plough said yes. 100% we would have.

If we won the game to St Kilda in the last round (we were ahead late in the last).

Chimp would have gone to West Coast.

There has to be something in that.

At least 100 cards would be hilarious.

I'm up for cost of a card and a stamp.

Where do we all send it to?

If we had beaten saints Carlton would have had first 2 picks (with one traded to west coast)? Only Richmond could finish last but not get the first pick.

Yeah correct.

Pick 1 was always Carlton regardless of position as priority.

Pick 2 (instead of 3 as what did happen) would have gone to West Coast as part of Judd trade.

Plough has good interview today on it (& Chimp).
