Training For Redemption in 2022

Ross will start on the wing next Thursday. He is a lock. Macintosh on the other wing.

Graham almost certain to play if he pulls up well. All but confirmed by Dimma in the Talking Tigers interview.

Training today, (1 week from gameday :) ) :

Fantastic first up full training session from Jack Graham, if his body pulls up well with and another week to build on it Dimma is going to be very tempted to rush him back as am I.

KMac was a no show, pretty certain he is not injured? didn't he finish the Tassie game on the ground?. If so the boys only came back to the club yesterday with no strenuous training so no chance of injury there, (in which case he is a health & safety protocol watch for me).

Tigga not there at all today when last week he was on track putting in rehab work on his hamstring recovery so not sure there.

Boys up and about, in the 15 minutes of match play, Dusty was sublime on-ball, DRrioli exhilarating off half-back.

Despite the threat of no Grimes & maybe Tigga Balta still played forward with stints of rucking around the ground.

The starting wings for the 2 different sides were Ross & Aarts vs Marlion & Stack.

Banks participated in about two thirds of training which was long enough to notice some of his precision kicking.

**As mentioned previously only giving abbreviated reports as you are all seeing the boys play now so my reports become somewhat redundant.

Cheers
Others may not agree, but I reckon Rioli is up for a transformational year.
The year he becomes a legitimate footballer not just a role player

Do you think Ross is suited to the wing?

I have doubts but many opinions are better than 1.

DS
I reckon Ross is more suited as an inside mid but sometimes you have to try and put square pegs in round holes for the betterment of the team.

I don't think he is, but he and the club needed him to become more flexible.
So he put in a big off-season, came back for pre-season in good shape, and the club has given him every opportunity to press his claims for that position.
Wing is now one of the most important positions on the field, requiring a huge motor for the two-way running to not only generate offensive drive, but close down space to deny opposition forays.
I see our lack of a settled wing combination as a concern going into R1 and whilst this is not a relection on Ross, I'm not convinced he is the answer.
The MC is looking to put a square peg in a round hole imho and I'm still scratching my head wondering why Marlion is seemingly on the outer.

Totally agree Caesar. They tried him as a HBF last year and that failed, now they're trying him on a wing.

They are unintentionally setting up the kid to fail.

Aarts is no winger also I don't know why we persist trying to fit him in the team his not best 22.

Are they trying to make him into a Brayshaw like role with Melbourne I wonder. Cant get into the midfield full time but like having the hardness on the wing and the option to roll him through the midfield at times?

Top report again keep the summaries coming as training vs game day differ.

Which days are training on these days once round 1 starts?

Thanks, I agree, maybe we need him on the wing although I would prefer Marlion but it is always team first as that wins flags.

I cant see what Ross brings to the Wing Role that Marlion doesnt.

In fact Marlion can jump, is better in the air and hard as nails in contest, opposition players are wary of him.

Neither of them are great by foot and Marlion is probably a bit faster in regard to foot speed.

So unless Marlion has had a question mark over his fitness then it makes no sense to me.

Ross looks as much of a one dimensional player as the club has on the list, and a shadow of his 2019 self prior to injury.

Its inside role or out of the side for someone who can play multiple roles.
