Training For Redemption in 2022

Not very good if we go in with both Grimes & Vlastuin missing

Miller Gibcus Tarrant very much untried
Our reserves would beat Carlton.
They're shitt.
It would surprise me they are more concerned about GWS the week after.
And holding back Graham, Big V & Grimes.

Grub n Flossy out of our starting defence round one, compounded by the retirements of Bash n DTLD at the end of last season is a massive overhaul of our back half.
Still a week away from our first game, I would've thought we wouldn't stretch Flossy until the main session next week. Bloody surprised he's already re tweaked what was supposed to be a very minor tightness.

Main training in season has always been 2 days prior to match day so that will make it Tuesday next week.

10am probably a good time to arrive, at worst you could have to wait a bit but you could kill time in Superstore or walk in Yarra Park but generally the boys are warming up by 10am.

Cheers Oh Great one, I'll try to make it :)

Why are no AFL listed players named to play

I'd guess it's to avoid injuries & also it's a short break to rd 1. Plus VFL may not be finalised (not sure on that one) so chance for them to try out for the finals spots.

I'd say Miller will play rd 1, if we aren't going to play him this year to cover injury we never will

HS reporting that Vlastuin trained well yesterday and should be available for round 1
Quick question for @caesar Is Mate Collina back and training yet? Sorry if you’ve reported it elsewhere but I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere and reports were he’d be back in March?

I’m no Caesar but I can tell you that our Mate won’t arrive until early May.
Finishing his last tournament and exams atm.

Anytime FAarts is in the side we’re in trouble
Faartsy just needs to consume as many beans n lentils as he can possibly ingest morning n noon of match day. Then get himself heavily involved in every possible scrimmage n pack situation he can find. Fumigate as many Carlscum players as he can get near.

We are harsh on Aarts because he's surrounded by single, double, triple premiership superstars!

He'd be captain at Norf.

Final Training Session today Tuesday:

Potential Bad news :

McIntosh is injured and will likely miss  , (although just heard Dimma's presser and he did not name Kamdyn when asked if there was anyone else likely to miss:unsure:, (was only walking laps with Tigga and didn't train Thursday either).

***Edit : Kamdyn now a confirmed out with calf injury/soreness.

Potential good news :

Graham completed his 3rd full session in a row so reckon he could be in the frame for selection.

Line Ball Call :

Grimes did most of the session but sat out drills where there was grappling involved, (he was marking and spoiling ok but no tackling)
**Note : A pointer that Grimes may not play? was that Balta having trained forward all summer was solely in defense today, (maybe hedging bets in case he does have to play there).

**Edit: Just heard Dimma's preview said Grimes would play if he has a strong session today, I would say Dillon trained strongly without testing his hand to the maximum so we'll see.
Nank absent with health and safety protocols but will play :clap2

Pretty sloppy session overall.

Go Tiges!

Thanks Caesar.
Any obvious sign of the injury Kamdyn is carrying?
He’ll be sorely missed. Been in blistering form

Jaheezus, Floss and now Kamdyn - two of our most important structurally from a defensive pov.
A soft win against hapless Hawthorn is not exactly the tune-up we needed, and our R1 side is looking a little patchwork.
Looks like the MC have decided on Ross on one wing :( so with Kamdyn out hopefully that means Marlion has to come in on the other.
Now with a R1 debutant, albeit a very talented one, against some tall timber.
Carlton have set themselves for this and my unease is growing.
