Training For Redemption in 2022

Lynch played with a bung knee and a busted hand at different times last year, I'll put him down for 50+ goals this season if he has any luck with injuries.

Lynch was immense in the second half of the 2020 GF. Just so many Herculean efforts that left me completely understanding why he was captain at GC. The stats alone say nothing about what he did.

Dusty was Dusty, but Lynch practically forced us back into the contest with his physicality.
That’s the problem with football ‘experts’. They are too immersed in how many possessions or goals one kicks. They fail to see how they impact the team from the things they do on a football field that are not registered by a kick or handball.

Same applies with Cotchin. Another one who is severely underrated as a player but more so as a leader. Imagine if his name was Selwood.

They also have the memory span of a gnat, if it didn't happen in the last fortnight it didn't happen.

Hmmmmmmmmmm.Thought there was nothing special about his kicking hence his preference to Handball.
Greg Williams was one of the best dual side kicks. Remember him almost always threading the needle against us.

Don't know didn't look too bad, did Cotch play out the full game Saturday? heard he starred in the 1st half and maybe didn't play the 2nd? I didn't catch the match.
Had the ball on a string in the 1st period (they played 3) saw him once on the replay then not sighted after that.

Lots of bones in the wrist, my partner broke a bone in the wrist and it took many months to fix and she has permanent issues. Some of those bones also get little blood supply so can take ages to heal. Best err on the side of caution with a young player.

MotoGP riders can injure the Scaphoid bone which is a prick of an injury due to the limited blood flow to that area.

I think he is correct by the context he was using which was salary, but I also think that's an unfair measure of a player.

But if you just lined every player up in order of wages, Lynch would be well ahead of where he would be if the line was impact on the game.
this right here is why player salaries should absolutely not be made public. if media want it they can lead by example

Cotchin is a great example, he's a better player nowadays & gets far less of the ball than he used to, yet the media say he's slid as a player. A couple of yrs ago there was a reigning Brownlow medalist who had 40+ disp 3 weeks in a row & his side lost all 3 games comfortably yet the media were drooling all over him simply because of the #...

You’re probably right but as a commodity your always going to pay more for an above average key forward.

Re: Lynch, had he had his kicking boots on he'd have kicked 45+ goals last yr & the chat around him would be completely different.

Especially a Free agent brought across from another Club, that'd go for pretty much any top player but more so for a top key fwd.

Yep. Volume of possessions is simply *smile* on most occasions. Pretty sure we were damn near the lowest overall possession side every year 17 - 18 - 19 - 20 n somehow managed to fluke 3 flags.
As the old saying goes. It's not how much ya got, It's how well ya use it n what ya do with it that matters.

Bingo!

Dusty another great example, got more ball pre '17 but became an all time great after that point in his career

I'd say todate , he has been good for us, and we have been good for him
ledger square
Sampson Ryan would love a crack at the top grade again, Balta being trailed forward with Miller & Tarrant down back and Soldo back in the equation , so Tom , earn your place ;)
Looks like Tom is ready to earn his spot

**I no longer know the Monday training schedule something has changed in the last 2 weeks so I would NOT be turning up to watch training at my previously stated time of 10am Monday's.

I wouldn't be surprised if they have swapped the Monday and Tuesday sessions over?, i dropped back past after lunch at 1:30pm and the boys came out for a half hour games/recovery session, (basically being instructed not to run), so other than saying Cotch, Riley, Parker, Banks, Graham were participating in the frivolities nothing to report.

Only person breaking a sweat was Lambo pumping out some laps.

Still no sign of DRioli and of course Covid affected Grimes.

I'll have to drop in tomorrow to see if Tuesday is now the 2nd designated normal session along with Thursdays.

I believe Rioli also has COVID.

Training Today Tuesday:

Looks like Tuesday is the new Monday?

Anyway was a footy session of pretty much just on an hour so maybe they are going a bit lighter on the boys?

Absent :

Syd
Grimes who we know has Covid and Mansell, (who i am only guessing may be in the same boat, his absence coincided with Grimes).

Back with the main pack :
Cotch :clap2
Parker
DRioli
RCD

Did Absolutely nothing :

Prestia & Lambert walked only two laps and left the track.

Rehab :

Banks
Graham
Tigga
Kmac
Marlion

There you go I have done the roll call for the day.

**Oh and Captain Nank after a goal or was it two on the weekend thinks he is a bona fide forward :) , stayed out late with the forwards and having shots for goal and demanded the mids to kick it to him on the lead.

Cheers

Thanks Julius. Geez....Prestia's a worry.

If he tweaked his ankle he wouldn't necessarily be running on it just 3 days later so no need to worry at this stage but no harm in crossing fingers anyway,
