Training for DRAFT PICKS!!!!

Doesn’t get enough of the ball for midfield. Wing suits his strengths perfectly. Why mess with what works?

im pretty sure when Tim Kelly left sth freo,

Marlion went from a 16 possession HBF'er

to a 25 possession mid.

I agree he's great on the wing, and its great watching him glide.

But I'd love to see him in the guts

They are abviously trying to find an additional player that can play half back in Houli's absence. They tried Ross that didn't work he is a midfielder, they played Caddy there 1st match play and he played ok, in next scratch match they switched Caddy and Marlion around, Marlion played H/B and didn't have an impact but Caddy was good on the wing.
So yes they are still searching/experimenting.
Shai for me, I remember his sensational 1st half in the 17 VFL GF playing off HBF

Cant take Sheds or Bolton away from their current positions. They are crucial to ball movement through the middle and forward.
Cotch not strong enough in the air I think but may not matter.
Pickett was wafl state team I believe , happy to be corrected, playing half back.
Its not number of possessions that matter. Is great on the wing but a fit Caddy is too. Last year Caddy was unfit and then injured.
Played wonderfully on the wing in the 2019 finals. Very important for ball movement forward. Is better at disposal going forward than Pickett who is better defensively.

Edwards is the obvious choice if you ask me.
I agree.
Shedda was simply brilliant when circumstances with injury etc sent him to the HBF in 2019.
Fast, so creative, and generated damaging counter-attacks time after time.

There is a risk of taking Shedda out of the middle when Cotch is starting to tread water.
But Cotch's looming football mortality also underscores the need to give more game time to emerging mids in RCD, Ross and Dow.

Without scrolling through all the previous posts, I noticed a few re Bachar. I had a mate tell me Bachar was up our way last week to attend a funeral who my mate attended as well.
Said he was a top bloke (which we all know) , told him his calf isn't good & will play minimal games & be managed throughout the year , He told him Dimma told him he had to stay on in GF, he was basically off for the game only for a minute or 2 to later be told get back out there once Vlaustin got injured, which I guess we all figured to be the case anyway.

Caddy is slow, but his mind is quick.
When the ball becomes a hot potato and players are just kicking it in hope. Caddy just seems to have that cool fonzy move where it looks like he's about to kick, only to pull out and dodge the on coming tackler. then pass it to a free player and we are away.
Like to see him slim down and see if he can gain some pace.

Totally opposite to basher said to me only 2 weeks ago.
He said he was on light training only due to he took longer time off after the GF.
Houli dosent need 22 games, just 3 games in September will do

IMO Bachar's efforts in the '20 GF are up there with Graham's in the '19 PF.

I thought he was in the guts?

But I had downed about 6 bloody Marias with breaky, after waking up pissed, and had about a dozen beers before they bounced the ball.

a few of us toppled down the aisles that day didnt we?

helluva day. helluva day.

Other teams have played played plenty of scratch matches for a couple of weeks now whereas Tige's have been easing into it and are yet to do a full one.
Lockdown and any extended training restrictions might catch us a bit short on.
