Training for DRAFT PICKS!!!!

**Note: Main training was brought forward to today, (Wednesday), so if anyone was planning on dropping by tomorrow I wouldn't!

Anyways I lucked into today's session on my morning walk.

As Tim Livingston said in his vid, they are gradually cranking things up increasing Match Play.

Today was 4 x 15min Match Play.

Interestingly after each goal rather than restarting from the centre square it was done with a boundary throw in from the wings.

Not Participating: Cotch, Lambo, Prestia, Garth.

Positional: Caddy wing, Marlion HB, Dow HF.

The stars: Dusty, (BOG, a lazy 3? with multiple goal assists), waxing lyrically with Shai who was also very very good.

Ruck and around the ground domination by Nank.
Kamdyn and Caddy impressive on the wings.
DRioli continues good form.
Shedda keeps on keeping on.
George lively.
Grimes and Tigga providing the usual blanket, Tigga aggressive overlap running.
Egg provided a lot of rebound, (we might indeed go back to that Well especially wth Bachar struggling).

RCD best of next in line mids today: You do notice when he bursts away and is getting better at breaking the tackles of men which I am sure he was doing as a junior big bodied mid. Two strong tackles one rewarded bringing down Shai the other penalized as a sling on Egg but liked the aggression all the same.
Ross next best in this category.

Surprise: Biggie nullifying Jack.

Frustrated: JR8 pinged twice, both for studs up on Chol and another on Biggie, (trying to move them under the ball with feet in marking contest as he couldn't get above them vertically). Both players went down holding their back, Jack showed no sympathy or concern at all :)

The winner of the positional moves was Caddy, Marlion and Dow were very quiet.

After pumping up Mabs the last couple of posts, except for one strong mark and goal didn't do much.

One glimpse only : It may have been his only touch but on a full pace lead with DTLD right on his hammer Samson Ryan takes a one grab mark.

Am starting to drop off Green for one of the vacant spots?

That's about all she wrote.

Cheers
As far as reports go, that's about a 9/10. Very good, young man!

Far better than the knuckleheads in the media.

One minor criticism - George lively? Tells me nothing. He's always lively. Sometimes kicking out on the full, or points, handballing to blokes feet, laying tackles and kicking a few goals. What did today bring? :)

Thanks again caesar.
Interesting that Marlion is trailing down back. I prefer him on the wing or in the midfield, how did he look down there?
Same here, TM.
Caddy to wing and Marlion to HBF is a loss on both fronts.

Marlion & Kmac running the wings was a real positive in 2020. Caddy's good but can't keep up with some wingers. Smart footballer. Better suited to 3rd forward.

Putting Marlion in Houli's spot? No. Marlion doesn't have the same kicking skills as Bash. Good overhead, strong tackles etc. Kicking let's him down.

With the new rules we'll see a premium on doing damage off HBF and wing. We've got good wingers. Leave 'em be.
Find a replacement for Houli.

George 'lively'
Is dangerous and at his all time pressure best.
He makes defenders panic.
Turnovers are our bread and butter.
Castagna would be in involved in 99% of our scoring.
From making space, Tackling, pressure acts, chasing and the most important banging them through the guts.
4 years of Castagna in our best 22.
Equals 3 flags

George was playing up the ground a fair bit, which he also did last year, l turning guys inside out linking up, still unpredictable, kicked a goal or was it a point not quite sure.

Unlike some others I have never had a problem with what George brings you are never going to get calm and calculated with Georgie.

I must add, I like our chances this year.... saw the dude on the left with a bit of paper in hand and heading in direction of the club... couldn't quite catch if he had the mandatory 100 extraordinary meeting signatures on it or maybe he was just dropping in to get some grooming advice from Kamdyn!

I've always said Marlion's best position is in tight.

Scrimmager. Stoppage Specialist. Ruck Rover. The Hard Nose. The Extractor. The In and Under. Whatever you want to call it, that's Marlion's best attribute!!!

Be surprised if Caddy has the speed and endurance for wing. Best position is somewhere in the forward line as he has a high IQ around goals.

Yes Cholly's super consistent at being inconsistent.

I still maintain we can turn Egg in a decent player the tuff stuff alot of our boys struggled with in the past so why not him , he has the skill and pace plenty to work with.

Thanks for the reports Caesar. How was Miller and CCJ ?.Great to see Biggie show a few signs his a big unit.No one stood out from the 5 pushing for a rookie spot.Did the boy Galucci play.

Thanks again. Disappointing effort by Chol. Where did he play and what is his best position?

Chol was played more forward with small stints in ruck and CJ given more ruck time this game sim, the reverse of Thurs.
Chol was against Grimes Astbury & Tigga working in tandem which is a tough gig.
Nank dominated both CJ and Chol when in ruck.

The Bash shouldve pulled the pin after his heroics in the GF.

His presence around the club as a leader is the best benefit we will likely get from him in 2021 until second half of the year.
Hmm yep I’m worried that his body may well be cooked
