Training for DRAFT PICKS!!!!

I still maintain we can turn Egg in a decent player the tuff stuff alot of our boys struggled with in the past so why not him , he has the skill and pace plenty to work with.

Yeah I'm not sold on the egg. We have players that people have deemed "soft" in the past, I assume people are comparing Egg to Short and Houli in that regard, but whilst they may have erred in the past about putting their bodies on the line, I don't remember them shirking the contests like I saw of Egg particularly in that Port game. He literally *smile* the bed when he saw them coming, not a good trait for anyone to have.

His presence around the club as a leader is the best benefit we will likely get from him in 2021 until second half of the year.
Never underestimate the benefits of a strong off field cultural leader.
I can live with the theory of Bash perhaps not playing much this season, or perhaps until the second half of the year. Would give some youngsters the opportunity to develop their game, perhaps even cement a spot for the future. Could also leave us with a very fresh n hungry Bash looking to go out on a high at the end of the year.
Win Win in my book.

The Bash shouldve pulled the pin after his heroics in the GF.

In reckon he’ll do a Grigg

I have no issue with Bachar going around in 2021 and whilst he has been injured and will have a late start to the season thats fine, We need him at the end of the year and not the start.

We clearly didnt rate this draft and traded out to load up in 21 and we will need list spots, Bachar's influence off field is needed this year with soft cap cuts and he is a leader and has coaching ability so well worth keeping for this season.

Given Houli has the foundation at our Club, he'll be around the Club long after Footy for many yrs to come. A great asset to the Club

hope we keep Marlion on the wing. he and kamdyn gave the opposition minimal time and space and teams found it hard to switch play on us. they are both endurance beasts with pace and can lay a strong tackle. they also run back hard to provide extra cover in defence. caddy cannot do this. we should have kept markov for houli's role.

I agree. Although I wonder with Houli injured and uncertain, they are trialing a few options including trying to fit in Caddy on the field.

They are abviously trying to find an additional player that can play half back in Houli's absence. They tried Ross that didn't work he is a midfielder, they played Caddy there 1st match play and he played ok, in next scratch match they switched Caddy and Marlion around, Marlion played H/B and didn't have an impact but Caddy was good on the wing.
So yes they are still searching/experimenting.

Would assume by the way we play with wingers pushing back to actually have an 8 man defensive zone anyway that playing on a wing or half back is basically the same anyway ,

Its Stackman or Rhyan Mansell I reckon

I agree with above, Marlion is great on the wing, and he's busting to move into the midfield, not onto a HBF.

Its no coincidence that when Tim Kelly left South Freo, and Marlion shifted from a HBF into the middle,

he shone bright.

On Marlion, my favourite part of his book was his Freo coach detailing how he accelerates for 3 strides before impact and the astonishing brutality and uniqueness of the technique.

its was a piece of poetry.

ive seen it and heard it and recited it too.

It reads to me like he could go like4like in a mid rotation with our captain.

yep his acceleration is exceptional. closes down time and space on the opposition like not many. wing for mine. I don't wanna see Isaac Smith do what he pleases on a wing again, this time for the cats.

Doesn’t get enough of the ball for midfield. Wing suits his strengths perfectly. Why mess with what works?

Edwards is the obvious choice if you ask me.
