Training for DRAFT PICKS!!!!

When are you going to accept that 90% of the reason we are so dominate is because of Castagna Rioli Bolton.
Why weren't we good in 2016?
No Castagna No Bolton No Bulter
Sometimes it’s really hard to know if you’re being sarcastic or not.

No Castagna No Bolton No Bulter
No Baker, Prestia, Nankervis, Presti, Caddy, Lynch, Pickett, Broad(2 games in 2016), Soldo, Balta and Graham. A fairly handy eleven.

I will stick with it till the day i die.
This club transformed into the powerhouse it is today, when it moved out Griffens and Vickery and brought in kids like Rioli Castagna Bulter.
The pressure game you see today started on the MCG against West Coast at the G in 2017.
Thats when these kids forged our dynasty.
***special mentions to Big V, Grimes, Nakas, Broad, Prestia, Cotchin, Edwards, Houli, Lambert and the number 4, i forget his name.

**Note: Main training was brought forward to today, (Wednesday), so if anyone was planning on dropping by tomorrow I wouldn't!

Anyways I lucked into today's session on my morning walk.

As Tim Livingston said in his vid, they are gradually cranking things up increasing Match Play.

Today was 4 x 15min Match Play.

Interestingly after each goal rather than restarting from the centre square it was done with a boundary throw in from the wings.

Not Participating: Cotch, Lambo, Prestia, Garth.

Positional: Caddy wing, Marlion HB, Dow HF.

The stars: Dusty, (BOG, a lazy 3? with multiple goal assists), waxing lyrically with Shai who was also very very good.

Ruck and around the ground domination by Nank.
Kamdyn and Caddy impressive on the wings.
DRioli continues good form.
Shedda keeps on keeping on.
George lively.
Grimes and Tigga providing the usual blanket, Tigga aggressive overlap running.
Egg provided a lot of rebound, (we might indeed go back to that Well especially wth Bachar struggling).

RCD best of next in line mids today: You do notice when he bursts away and is getting better at breaking the tackles of men which I am sure he was doing as a junior big bodied mid. Two strong tackles one rewarded bringing down Shai the other penalized as a sling on Egg but liked the aggression all the same.
Ross next best in this category.

Surprise: Biggie nullifying Jack.

Frustrated: JR8 pinged twice, both for studs up, one Chol and another on Biggie, (trying to move them under the ball with feet in marking contest as he couldn't get above them vertically). Both players went down holding their back, Jack showed no sympathy or concern at all :)

The winner of the positional moves was Caddy, Marlion and Dow were very quiet.

After pumping up Mabs the last couple of posts, except for one strong mark and goal didn't do much.

One glimpse only : It may have been his only touch but on a full pace lead with DTLD right on his hammer Samson Ryan takes a one grab mark.

Am starting to drop off Green for one of the vacant spots?

That's about all she wrote.

Cheers

I look forward to your comparison report @aoc1974 :)

A view through a fresh set of eyes would do wonders for this thread.

Great that we have an aswer to the Caddy conundrum. He plays wing and Pickett has Houli's HBF.
Not sure Houli will play much early season and I expect it may be his last year.
Pickett was great half back in the wafl.
Caddy is better offensively .

Marlion might prefer playing back.

Stack is the one thats missed a golden chance to reclaim his spot and career, its been a very very costly return to WA for him in more ways than one..

The Bash shouldve pulled the pin after his heroics in the GF.

His presence around the club as a leader is the best benefit we will likely get from him in 2021 until second half of the year.

Apart from being late to the party... my bloody eyes are shocking which are only equalled by ability to write up a half decent report! Like it or not, you-da-man @caesar. :)

I must add, I like our chances this year.... saw the dude on the left with a bit of paper in hand and heading in direction of the club... couldn't quite catch if he had the mandatory 100 extraordinary meeting signatures on it or maybe he was just dropping in to get some grooming advice from Kamdyn!

Thanks again caesar.
Interesting that Marlion is training down back. I prefer him on the wing or in the midfield, how did he look down there?

Caeser, did you notice Mansell out there? Could he be another option for us in place of Bashar?

Unbelievable footballer.
I thought i would never see a champion of the game play for us.
We have the best footballer in the modern era playing for us.
He shitts all over Judd, Hird and Dangerfield.
He is the same class with Ablett senior and Carey.
A privilege to have watched him play for us.
Martins finals record stands him head and shoulders above any player in my life time ( I go back 6 decades)
Until the end of 2019, like you Matthews, Bartlett, Ablett and Carey were the best players I had seen but none
has come near this freak. 11 bogs in 13 finals games is astronomical and highly unlikely to ever be repeated.
