Training For 2023

Just to add Broad tweaked a hammie on Thursday. Not serious just a couple of weeks down time. Prestia did lots and lots of running. Of the add on players I'd be adding KB in a heartbeat. The Reds "win" with the after the siren goal was created by KB beating Noah B and Liam on the boundary and and hitting KMac 30 meters out dead in front. Did a few other good things as well.

As we haven't seen/heard much of him after his injury, just wondered how the kid feels around the group as he was looking super excited before this happened (from that house video when selected and in some training pics the club uploaded) and now he's copped this huge setback. You wouldn't expect a 1st year kid to cop an injury like this.
Kaleb showed a bit in that first Saturday open Match Sim, which is where he must have ultimately got injured or given it is a bone stress injury it could have just been a build up?.
Anyway not expected to start running for about 8 weeks from when the operation was so a bit of a shame.

Awesome, did any of the rehab guys do anything to indicate they'll be back soon or look like they could play Norf in a couple of weeks time? As anyone building up to a return to the main group?
Not that i saw today but because of match-sim their work was probably cut short as the whole ground was needed for the match.

Thanks Julius. Looks like Meehan's got a busy period ahead of him.

On the Ross/Cotchin training vid he's seen doing the bike ride at the camp. That being the case it can't be too much of a concern atm but that's just wishful thinking from me.

A bit of cycling isn't too much of an issue if your hamstring is in reasonable shape so there's not a clue there unfortunately.
TBR i think last year he had 3 hamstring strains, his other substitution was getting knocked out.
Is the fact that each one was a strain rather than a serious injury significant in any way, or would you think he is so aware of his hamstring he stops playing before he really pings it?

The only way to tell that for sure is with a scan. It is very common for players with previous hamstring injuries to be cautious with them and even feel things that scans don't support. It's a very challenging mental space because of the uncertainty of the causation of it.

We've seen that at times with Darcy Moore and I think Dylan Grimes has had a false alarm or two as well.

That's a lot of factors to factor ;)

That's why we get paid the big bucks!

Rhyan Mansell and Marlion went hammer and tongs at each other a couple of times. Marlion was excellent. Rhyan also had a good game as a half forward. Shai was just taking the p&^% half the time. His teammates know what's coming and he still turns them inside out.

Did you see all of Match Sim @HKTigerB ? and why did you avoid me? ;)

I spoke to Broady who was walking the boundary but didn't ask about his absence/injury but you obviously did?

Backline
Grimes
Broad
Gibcus

Midfield
Prestia
Sonsie
Graham

Forward
Lynch

Got to say i don't like how things are tracking.

I heard Tim Kelly say West Coast had 42 of their list training which for him was unheard of.

@caesar Yeah the coterie that I'm in got invited down and we then had a briefing after. Got there just before 9.00 am and saw all the match sim. They were going at it pretty hard. I was impressed.

I was trying to get around to you but was told to stay with the group in front of the JD stand. We were asked not to leave the ground once we'd entered. Sorry mate. Trying to get down on Monday. Will provide some extra goss then.

Got the Broad stuff second hand from a mate of his that is in the same coterie.
