Training For 2023

I think anything Prestia gives us from now on is a bonus. He just can’t be relied upon.

If can get 15 games out of him plus finals we should be doing cartwheels.
Yep. I.d be happy with 10-12 and finals.
Gives Ross n Sonz n Dow good opportunities.
But lets get him primed for September

Dunno if we’ll get that many out of him Joking Faces. Think he’s rapidly getting to that Lambo state of broken body.

I wouldn't get too depressed about Prestia. You can resolve soft tissue issues and many players do, it just sometimes takes a bit of time to find the right mix of training method to get there.

It seemed we had a pretty good method last year. His hammy round 1 was very minor and in a different spot, we were just super cautious so he missed a few weeks. Then he was good right up until the EF, missing games in between with a niggle or two (and a concussion:mad:).

Yeah and they will evolve and learn as they go to further refine it so they will have tried to identify what caused an issue last year.

The irony is the more you do the better we can work out what the triggers are.

I cannot believe from my reports that you are liking this list but I have said people can believe what they want to believe for me it is my eyes but i do wear glasses, (but not the rose coloured kind).
Why does that conjure up images of Fearless Fly?

Very worried about Meatball. Heard at the end of last year his body was shot and he’d struggle from here on in. Already he seems to have issues again.
Yeah seems like he is struggling big time. Timing of the big $ extension in 2021 wasn't ideal.

Hope he's not had any more head knocks or longer term issues with that concussion. It was a bad one.

Prestia might just be on a holding pattern, got a good pre season now trying minimal work before playing home and away,at worst we are way way better off in our midfield this year.

Heres a question;

If your in genuine contention,

Why not give your old crocks 3-4 months off,

Start an old crock pre-season in March,

And play them first in June?

Half their footy, double the length of their last contract.

I've said this before, but other than the fact players want to play, i dont understand why more young kids dont miss time to get fitter and bigger, and why players injured in pre-season, dont just do a full pre-season then start match play once they have 2 or 3 months of running into them.

Bradtke took one good mark and goaled i think.

Miller is Lynch in our match sim set-ups and was against Tarrant, did a couple of good things and most importantly wasn't out marked and brought the ball to ground.
Unfortunately that may be be more of indictment on Tarrant.
If he cant dominate/outmark Miller then he is in trouble.

Who will step up to replace Tarrant in early 2023?
Balta, with Young/Biggie taking the second tall?

Simple win/loss economics Ezy.

You can only afford to drop about 6-8 games a year to be certain of finishing top 4, where you want to be to really challenge for a flag.

If we were to play the first 11 games without the likes of Cotchin, Prestia, Grimes, Tarrant, Riewoldt, Lynch and even Martin then I'm not sure we are going to bank enough to get there.

Agree, but youde reckon with the arrival of

tarrantuhopper,

It'd buy Dion and Dusty an extra month off?

Maybe thats exactly whats happening and Dion will be peaking Sept 30?

Wouldn't be much point bringing in guys to improve you if it means you just balance out by leaving other guys out though.

Prestia has definitely had an injury of some sort, the work he is doing doesn't align with a management plan, it's a recovery plan.

If Kaleb Smith is going to be off legs for 6-8 weeks, he won’t be running or playing footy anytime soon… maybe we will move him to the inactive list and pick up both Bradtke and Narkle?
