Trade Week - Richmond Only

The re-signings today probably give us insight into what they are planning now with the picks. I think we have 35 on the list and we are allowed 42, so 7 available list spots.

Our current picks give us 8 in the 1st 24. We don't have that many list spots, so its nailed on that 1 of these will be traded prior to draft night.

If that was to get 2, then awesome, especially if its the deal touted. 2 and F1 for 6 and 11 is great. Upgrade of 6 and you'd think the Roos would be outside of the 8 so a higher number pick than 11 next year, hopefully top 5, it'll be fun death riding them.

I reckon we will still trade a bit. Maybe something like 24, trade back a couple of times for 2 F3 and then trade it out fully for a F2, or if we can trade it for a F1 just do that, but might not be possible. Not sure too many teams with a decent 1st round pick expectation for next year will be trading it for the 28th best player in this years draft.

It's a definitive No from me. They're asking too much. So say we take Lalor at 1 and do this to grab FOS at 2. Someone like Smith or Langford could/will be there at 6.
The argument has to be that FOS is about twice the player of the latter 2.
No way in the world! Then you throw in what you get at 11, who could be another champion, maybe Armstrong or Trainor or Travalgia.
It's just silly. No draftee is a certain champion; the injury gods see to that whatever the talent might be presented. FOS should be a very good player, but on perceived form and injury susceptibility with a light and not particularly rugged body, he's no sure thing.
If Smith is still available, he's a much more certain guaranteed performer in the long term IMHO; a ball magnet who finds it constantly and uses it very well. Proved it at every level consistently.
Don't over-reach for pic 2.

There's still room to get pick 10 into the Langford/Smith range, if Smillie & Tauru go early we are in a good spot.

Not sure what I think of the offer. I'll re-evaluate in 3 years time and come back here to update what I think of their offer now.

You are on the money in terms of how and when this pick swap could be evaluated, which just goes to show it's not a surefire great deal now!

Sorry, bullus, very much doubt that.

There's good reason to doubt that the top mids will be still there by then with Melbourne and Zaints pics to come before.
Anyway, we are not certain Norf have even made this offer, just rumoured. Be surprised. As an earlier poster stated, what Cartoon gave up for pick 3 is a better guide. People get too excited thinking one player is a certainty to be worth 2 other high quality youngsters.

The rumoured deal is pick 2 and their F1 for our 6 and 11.
Thats 2 picks for 2 picks.
it is upgrading pick 6 to pick 2 and swapping pick 11 for North's f1.

If true, I cannot see how we could possibly say no.

From what @taztiger4 posted yesterday - We still have 8 picks after todays re-signings dont we?

correct Cuz

Sethy onto main list give us

28 inc Kapsy & Not Paddy
6 Rookies
2 Cat B

Add 8 draftees

36 inc Kapsy & Not Paddy
6 Rookies
2 Cat B
Max 44 all up inc the 2 Cat B

We might even upgrade 1 or 2 more & leave a spot or 2 open for Rookie or PSD

I am not convinced Not Paddy gets a contract TBH

I'd be pulling all stops to get the engine room kitted out with 2 speedsters and one of Langford or Smith, that to me is the perfect draft. Pick 10 still has major currency, moving up to pick 5 is prime realestate to meet our needs. I think there's value in the twenties, I'm happy with our current positioning and believe we can walk away with a minimum of 4 core footballers this draft. The royal flush will be 5 but we'll have to nail our tall selections which will require some luck and astute drafting.

Correct. With Not Paddy being given a 1 year extension, we now only have 7 list spots but 8 picks. Its made me very certain that this pick trade with North will happen.
Yep, I reckon it's Lalor and FOS. Jagga's gonna sliiiiiiiiiiiide.
