Trade Week - Richmond Only

Then we withdraw.

"Sorry Dan, you're staying. We are holding you to the lucrative contract that you were more than happy to sign 2 years ago."
Wouldn't you think Dimma could be the one to benefit us from here?

But will the Suns trade it out first and screw us over? That's my concern
They’d be screwing themselves over if we were to walk away as a result.

How do you think Dimma would react to missing out on his boy Dan because GC tried to be cute.

6 & 13 or Dan stays and you can deal with Dimma. Your choice

We can’t be screwed over coz if we can’t get a fair trade ,Daniel stays at Tigerland.
If that happens we can pencil his name in for next years B & F as well!

Don’t think Noble played in their flag.
He was omitted, they went with Markov.
So Noble was dropped from the Granny for Lego who was discarded by Mould Coast the year before. But now Colonwood expect a mid first rounder for Noble off the Mould Coast. Wouldn't surprise me in the least if this deal goes through real easy, all that tropical type weather has sent them people up there Mouldy between the buccanears.

Do not trade Rioli or Bolton unless it’s to our advantage. We’re not a charity to put other clubs in premiership contention.

Under no circumstances do we trade just to be agreeable to the player’s intent.

Of course we don't, we need to rebuild for our next challenge far more than we need to win every trade deal in front of us.
Probably the same as all club supporters but geez, we over rate the *smile* out of the value of our players.

Reality says we had an absolute *smile* season for lots of various reasons. But even our best players were fairly mediocre this year.
Sausage won the JDM in a team that finished last with 2 whole wins. While Bakes n Shai managed to tie for 5th. There's simply nothing that screams out standing champion performances in an outstanding year about their result. But more best effort among a bog ordinary bunch.

Umpires didn't rate our players at the Brownlow.
Wonder if the coaches rated our players in the coaches award.
Maybe even the oppo players didn't rate our players in the MVP award
Even in Blobbo's top 50 award in today's Hun we were one of only 2 clubs not to get a player rated. Blobbo's start of season list had Shai at 30s n Dusty in the 40s. They finished off the list.
Maso's gone full Barrett Ralph!

Rioli is worth pick 6 and a bit more to GC, he's worth a lot on the open market but add a premium for the GC for reasons discussed a lot already. Shai is worth a motza, full stop, no two ways about it. If Petracca stays, and he probably will, Shai will be the big fish trade of the year. Freo or WC fans will lose their *smile*.

Bakes also has very good currency, not as much as Shai of course, but good currency nonetheless. Out of contract so we'll take a discount.

So perhaps a pick 6 plus very late 1st rounder or early 2nd rounder for pick 2. Always depends on what #Lolnorf want for their selection n they obviously think that pick 2 would be to early a choice.
Then it simply becomes a matter of what pairing we could possibly be wanting to ensure with picks 1 and 2. FOS / Jagga combo??? If we could fudge a similar type deal with Wet Coke pick 3 for Bakes and another mid tier first rounder instead of looking for Wet Cokes Bareass trade pick for Bakes. Things could get very interesting.
We'd absolutely be in control of our draft destiny with picks 1 - 2 - 3 to start off with and depending on all the overall trade deals done, we could still have a mid first rounder n a few end of first or start of second picks to play around with.

Pull the finger out Blair, Touche needs the biggest n fattest first draft hand ya can give him to start our rebuild.

No need for concern. GC have targetted Dan, and Blair is very good at his job.
This trade and draft we will find out just how good.
Imo Blair needs to morph from Mr Reasonable to Mr Hard-ass.

This concern a lot seem to have that Blair is a soft touch is wrong. In the past when we've let players go for unders it was because they were good players who weren't getting a game in the best side in the comp, and part of us being the best side in the comp was good culture, and part of good culture is not being a goose like Dudoro and treating players like commodities and negotiations like win/ lose.

The situation now is completely different, both in terms of the calibre and importance of the players involved and where the club is at.

North Future 1st on the table.
Only willing to slide 3 or 4 spots in any deal for pick 2.

EVERY list manager is saying this draft is a ripper and all clubs absolutely scrambling to get more picks in this draft

Much prefer Blair to be Mr. Sneaky - subtle. Everyone he deals with are happy coz they think they've got a pretty good deal, but when they all turn around n take a proper look he's somehow sitting on a mountain of gold.

and end up like Dudoro ?

No thanks
Yes. Blair considers the factors at play and conducts business accordingly, and importantly plays it straight.

Dudoro just tries to screw everyone down in every deal. And he is one of the reasons Essendon hasn't won a final since Henry Bolte was betting on tick at the Meridith Pub,

Would you be happy if it falls through & we get nothing except an unhappy player?
Yes, contracted and tough titties just means we will wont re build as fast.
Cultural royalty and off field very important…. This is why will get 6 & 23ish or f1
Dimma knows the off field indigenous marketing element of rioli will help with memberships in QLD
