Trade talk 2019/20

Matt Clarke said we won't take many in this draft. And we seem to be looking for selections in next year's.

And other clubs are doing business for next year's picks.

Plenty of clubs ready to let go early selections in this draft.

Many of those with skin in the game are demonstrating that this draft is not rated.

A lot with skin in getting out of this draft.

Allir is an outstanding get by Port Adelaide; the win of the trade period to date.

Maybe the Swans have salary cap issues ... but moving him on, and for a relatively cheap pick, has me buggered. They must be going well to trade out a bloke of this quality. I could think of two dozen Swannies I'd move on before Allir.

Allir and Balta have similar traits. I rate Allir as worth a top 15 every day of the week.

Bloody Port. Well played to them. They are a threat in 2021.
ALLIR IS PRONE TO BE A BIT LOOSE AND NOT THAT GOOD ONE ON ONE, balta already far better one on one, also doesn,t always follow team rules and instructions.

Pick 8 for Saad is overs
I reckon its absolute bullseye. I reckon there has been a drift towards overrating the unknown, draft picks, and underrating the known quantity of players with exposed form, but I'm surprised its happening this year with the draft being more of a lucky dip. Maybe sides are just ditching players who aren't Richmondy?

FWIW I think it's very possible that StKilda is offering us an upgrade of our first rounder and that we don't value that.

That's a great get by Port only 26 years old bargain would have loved him at tigers can't understand swans thinking in getting rid of him no idea.
Allir will be a very good get for Port.

They are suspect in defence and Allir is big, strong athletic, has poise for a key back and reads the footy very well.

If he plays to form Port if they are fair dinkum should push the top bracket again next year, he will make a big difference to them especially on the narrower Adelaide Oval.

North, Cats, Pies, Hawks, Crows, Suns, Dogs, Drugs all could do with a key back interesting Allir not linked to any of them.

A quiet deal this one, how were others not onto this one to pounce.

If essendrugs are fair dinkum, they should take those 3 top ten picks to the draft and take at least 2 talls with them. id be getting rid of pick 6 quick smart though...

Not sure Dyer.
I reckon they are trying to low ball us with a second rounder or future second?

One day to go. Let’s see what eventuates.
Hope Richmond stand firm.
But ....

Been known for weeks. ?
Port enquired but told no.
Wonder what transpired to change the Swans thinking.

4 year deal is pretty good.

Would have liked him at the Tigers..

Its not that this years draft is not rated its just hard to rate. At least 5 - 10 Victorian players come through each year from borderline picks to top 30 in their draft year. Those players will now spill over into next years draft improving the depth next year. So clubs are assuming that their will be an extra 10 players in next years draft that are quality AFL talents.

Expect Richmond to go after a couple of academy kids like last year. Kids that will fulfil certain roles. Key players will be picked up by trading..

Once they'd committed to him, were always giving Pick 8, but agree, if it was my club I'd be disappointed to be giving a top 10 pick for a half bank flanker.
I don't understand this 'your commited' to him, why?
So if Essendon wanted 2 first rounders do they give them up??
I reckon there's risk in everything and the player should understand that if a club forks out alot to get them and he dosent perform, he wont last long..eg: Jordon McMahon

Would've been a good fit at the RFC.

Would've been a handy plug in replacement for Dave.

Hopefully we can nab a tall back from another club next year like Taylor from the Sherbies to replace Dave who could possibly wind it up next year.

I guess in the end not like Geelong got that much more for Fogarty - 5 picks later at Pick 22 than Higgo, same draft.

The Geelong Cats trade Lachlan Fogarty and its Rd 2 (38) selection to Carlton for its Rd 2 (30) and Rd 3 (51) selections.
Who's Fogarty?
Higgins at least showed he can play the game.
Geelong dont loose guns just duds. Menzel, Christian, McCarthy, Cockatoo collins, Lang, Moltop, Murdoch...
There problem is they get rid of duds but they bring in some of the biggest king duds back in...

There's always quality kids.
You need to be in it to win it.
With 5 selections, you would hope you would find some quality.
I love new kids coming to the club

From what im hearing from a few ppl in Melbourne that were looking for Miller to take Dave's role

Just rumour Zips !

Another cheapie Richmond player.

I would rather lose the Cathwaite's of this world and bring in kids.
Cathwaite has showen nothing in the games ive seen him play.
The 2020 version defender needs to be in the balta mode.
Athletic, fast and able to kick.
