Trade talk 2019/20

Saad runs fast off half back then tuns it over ,
that is all !
I haven't seen anything from him to command a first round pick.
Carlton are just a stupid club
800k for Williams and now 600k for sad. When they couldve spent less and just picked up Degoey.
He is 10 times better then both of them

How many of the best half backs in the game have come with a top 10 draft pick? Look at our 3. Houli (PSD) and Bakes and Shorty from the rookie draft.

Save your Top 10 picks for talls and exceptional midfielders.

And all 3 were forwards. Its why losing Markov wasnt such a big deal. We will find another player with speed and attacking instincts and teach them how to defend well enough.

Saad does fall in the gap between the Blues 1st and 2nd rd picks, hence their supposed want to swap pick 8 to get picks 18 and 19 from the Lions.

The academy bidding system is floored totally,u actually get a 20 percent discount for stealing a higher pick.

Carlton should just do what St.Kilda did last year with Freo/B.Hill and trade out their top pick and offer the leftovers for Saad.

That seems the most logical scenario however talk is that Essendon have enquired for the same thing to stop Carlton doing it so that they can still go for Pick 8., they are offering Pick 7 for the same 2 picks apparently). Bunch of wankers.

That's where you bring the young up n comers into the side to both get a look at what they can provide plus give them some opportunity to grow n develop some experience.
Keep pushing the kids back n they leave for an opportunity to play seniors elsewhere n we get stuff all for all the hard work we've put into them, they need something to aim for n achieve.
Spot on. Noah Balta had his detractors, but he may well now be one of our most valuable players. Noah looks and feels like he belongs.

Tell the blues that thet can play that game

Pick 20 and next years first round pick for the blues 8. Happy to help Carlton to screw the bummers

Carlton think they are GWS, they have had so many top 10 picks.
They are throwing them away and buying up half back flankeries

We get $1.2m for winning the flag that we wouldn't have banked on. You can go over the cap if you pay a tithe that's around double the overspend, e.g. go $100K over the cap, pay $200K to the AFL to distribute to the minnows. We can afford it.
Sounds like a good story but surely not true. U effectively saying there isn't really a salary cap and that the rich clubs can buy there way around the cap and go over it. This contradicts why the cap was brought in.

The Bulldogs' interest in Treloar makes money sense. Strategic money sense. Their books would be tight. (TPP and paying the gardener.)

They are a star down from finals-competitive. And finals-competitive is where the money is at.

Dunkley is a busy lad. But a Supercoach champion. (I think he's a battler.) Treloar, for all his weaknesses, is a massive upgrade. Treloar, Bontompelli, McCrae, Smith, Hunter and no Dunkley. Looks miles better.

They'd need a ruck and a key back but minnows have to nibble at the big stuff.

Footscray should blackmail then rescue Collingwood. Treloar is a big talent boost for them.

The smart play for Dodoro would be to sag off, let Footscray get the deal all but over the line then burn Dunkley and go for Treloar. Three-way trade simplified.

Treloar has little power in this IMO. "Premiership window"? He has nowhere near that currency. So if Esserdun made a late play they could pull it off.

That would be bold. But Dodoro is famous for vexatiousness and brinkmanship, not boldness.

I am not against taking Treloar if he is cheap enough, but I am not sure on a number of things:

1. Can he fit our culture? Seems to me that we have placed this very high in our assessment of recruits.
2. Are the soft tissue injuries of late a sign of things to come. Those hammys must be a concern
3. How does he affect our list management. It is fine to get the Pies to pay a portion of his salary, but is that proportional as we get deeper into his backloaded contract?
4. How does he fit our gameplan. Whose position does he take.

Of these points, 4 is the one that intrigues me the most. I am not sure we have a player who plays the way he does in our side. He has speed but seems very outside and I can't say I see a lot of defensive aspect to his game. But I can't say I have watched that much of him to be honest.
The only issue I see is length of contract and injury history which go hand in hand.
How he fits in our game plan..the guy is 20x the player RCD or Ross will ever be.
Culture...have u ever heard of a DeGoey type story with Treloar?
List Management ... priority at all times is get the best players available that u can afford. If he fulfill both criteria go for it.
Position...starting mid. Sort the others out.

You seem very confident about that. Stack, Naish and DES were all tried there this year. Every one of them came up short (Or not! But no pun intended!). All failed.

I've posed this question to others claiming Oleg is no loss, but haven't seen an answer yet. So we lose one of our Premiership HBFs or wingmen 1st round next year with a LTI, who has your full confidence to replace them immediately?

You need VFL games to "teach them how to defend well enough." Something no one got in '20. If you say Stack, take a LOL now.

Fair suck of the sauv. Twenty times might be a bit rich. Ross’ first year was elite until he got injured. We’d have to hope he can get back there.

You have that "what if" with every position, the next guy in is not as good (yet) otherwise they would have been in the team in the first place, no team ever has a "first" 44.
