The job Trent did on Dylan Shiel was major reason for me. Their key mid IMO.Sintiger said:The job Grimes did on him in the prelim went a long way to winning us that game, especially in the first half when we were up against it for a period.
Sintiger said:Whilst i agree with many of the posts about Greene being a thoroughly unlikable player there is no doubt to me he is also a seriously good footballer

I understand where you're coming from, Zipps.zippadeee said:I hope they dont suspend him, he will.slap Collingwood
I don't understand all the "experts" saying that there's no rules against it???Quickdraw said:He's done it again.
Gave Broad a boot to the chest. Got off with a $1,500 fine for a boot to Luke Dahlhous' face. I thought the head was sacrosanct. The guy could have lost an eye.
Now he's stuck the studs into two Sydney players.
AFL needs to address this before someone gets seriously injured.
Mac said:Good call. The rules are actually quite clear. Basil is 100% wrong - there IS a clear difference between ‘holding the man out’ in a marking contest with your hands as compared with your feet.
Section 15.4.3 of the laws of the game talks about permitted contact with hips, shoulders, chest, arms and open hands. No mention of feet - therefore NOT permitted. Again - FEET NOT PERMITTED
Section 15.4.4 talks about charging.
Section 15.4.5 (as you have already highlighted) talks about PROHIBITED contact. Even if there’s an argument that Groin didn’ ‘kick’, his actions clearly have the potential to injure (eg stops in Dahlhaus’s face).
In addition, most agree that ‘it’s not a good look’. Rule 15.4.5 (k) states “...rough conduct against an opposition player that in the circumstances is unreasonable”
It certainly isn’t a stretch to award a free against Groin for an unreasonably rough action. Stops in the ribs could easily crack a rib.
I reckon the current rules allow an interpretation that outlaws what Groin did 3 times last night. All the AFL has to say is that they will not allow it under the existing rules and will be cracking down on it so be warned.
And yeah, Michael Long did it a few times in his career too. It was a bad look then and still is. Don’t know why umps find it difficult to call it out.
Simon Madden in a ruck contest many years ago got Graham Johns? Ruck from Sydaknee in the throat with the stops, if I recall it correctly. Wrecked the blokes larynx. Bit of old school footy that's still allowed that *smile* me is obviously Greene getting away with extending the stops, but also the likes of Waite n Hawkins constantly driving knees first from a long way behind at marking contests. It's one thing to use the knees to help elevate, it's altogether something else when the knees are used as a battering ram.Quickdraw said:Only a matter of time before someone gets a serious injury from this type of action.
