Tigers v Hawks game day

Our blokes are off the pace they don't look fit enough they are fumbly and almost not looking mentally up for it.

There is no intensity in our effort

Some don't even appear to have 1st efforts in them right now let alone second or third efforts.

We look clunky and disjointed because nobody is running, there is no hard defensive running and tonight there was no hard offensive running either.

Our smalls, Edwards, Lambert, Rioli, George have been well down there is no forward pressure and our backs have shouldered the load both games since return. Pickett has also struggled as have Stack and Fridge. Our skills are shithouse.

Tonight was kick mark footy and that is not Tigers footy.

As for the forward 50 entries and forward movement of the footy it was deplorable .

That lost 2 points last week now becomes critical after tonight.

Our pressure game was non existent and the hawks just walked the ball through us. We had 20 tackles we average 60 . Pressure and tackling is our game and we lack energy. Like we're running in quick sand. We'll bounce back once we get our pressure game back.

Clarkson is a legend.
He just said
"last week we let ourselves down, (and no disrespect to Geelong) but they aren't that good" :rotfl1 :rotfl2

Why do we miss out on top 5 draft pick?
I can't see how we get our game style up and running.
This interruption with CV has put us on the back foot.
Lets shelve this year.
Play kids, lets make a charge for it in a real season.
Find another Key forward and lets see Dow and CD in the middle.
The breaks are longer then the qtrs.
I know its too early to scrap the season, we just look miles off the pace.

Wankley will be unable to control himself tomorrow the little Wheres Wally.

Good thing I don't listen to it anymore.

We might not be playing well,
but in the 2 games back we have had opportunities to hit the lead or just get back in the game but we have kicked like donkeys 0.4 last week and 2.6 tonight.

Yep and apart from our defenders no one else has ...........................................

The defence has been good.
The midfield is the issue.
Can't blame the forward line, when every ball coming in is sent into orbit or bumped along the ground.
We look like we never have any space anymore.
Besides when Pickett or Prestia have they ball they kindly give it straight back.

We made some old codgers at hawthorn look like gold tonight.
Smith hasn't had a good game since 2012.
Buygyoune was retired last week
McEvoy looked a 20 year old.
Frawley pantzed Jack.

Very poor. The main concern for me is how many guys we have that aren't really doing enough to even get a game, but with no VFL, it's risky to promote, as Ross showed today. On the flipside, some of the comments in this thread are hilariously pessimistic. You'd think the season was over, which is a pretty big statement when you're analyzing our first loss IN OVER A YEAR.

While we like to think it’s mostly a lack of Desire ,

I guess what others will be thinking/saying after last night and last week , if we don’t get the game on our terms , we drop our bundle and become a bit second rate , and now they will think they have the blueprint to do it .

And I think it might be a bit of both .

Waiting for someone else?. A spark to ignite them?

Only 14 games left.
Whilst the first loss in 12 months is by no means a disaster, the signs in all 3 games so far haven’t been good outside of our early start vs Carlton.
Right now we are miles off the kind of Richmond footy we love.

Is it Coronavirus blues?
Health protocols?
Empty stadiums?
Reduced salaries?
Staffing cuts?
Shorter quarters?
Loss of connection?
Or just a Premiership hangover?

We’re only getting a keyhole view through a TV set with piped in cheering so who knows..however from the couch for whatever reasons our intensity wasn’t there & our skill level was safe to say *smile*.

I felt we didn’t come to play which suggests to me our heart & head just isn’t in the game right now. That lack of hunger & mindset holds great concern to me for the rest of our season. I’m not holding my breath for it to turn around quickly either.

Time will tell but our season so far feels as off as everything else so far in 2020..

Was worried about an upset last night but the Saints game next week will tell us plenty about where the future of our year lies.
