Tigers v Hawks game day

Pickett was always likely to find the going tough once he had to deal with AFL standard opposition analysis and physical intensity.

Very few players in the history of the game have stepped in as elite players and he has a number of small weaknesses that were always going to be attacked at AFL level.

He will be a good player but it will take time and adjustment.

I tried to say that all preseason but was shouted down by people saying he was going to win the Brownlow.

You did indeed Richo.

Has anyone mentioned Hawthorn play the G too much?
The only team this year to win all its games on the G

Too many players did not work hard enough. When they showed the top 5 players for distance run during the game there were no Tiger players. I cant recall that occurring for a long time... Either we're still working into fitness or a flu has gone through the club this week or we're getting a bit lazy. Either way we need to freshen up and do it quickly.
Mcintosh improves running instantly - get him in.

just to be a sook, it annoys me that 4 out of our first 5 games are on Thursday (counting R1). I’ve never been a fan of Thursday night footy. I know its somewhat different coz I can’t go, but I can’t get on the sauce hard either. I hope the club is in the ear of the AFL about this in the next block of games.
After our last two Thursday's will be buried at 4.3o Sat or Sun

Fair enough ...he has played in what ....a grand final - which he played unbelievably well in and 3 of the strangest games in the strangest circumstances the league has ever seen. Personally I’m not putting a line through him after 4 games.

Don't forget, that Grand Final was played against witches hats

Tonight was pathetic no positives. We have got a long way to go at this stage it looks like we have lost our hunger and while there are still 15 rounds to go they are starting from a very long way back because they are lacking at the contest there is no connection between our midfield and forwards and there is a clear lack of intent to pressure and hunt the football.

Our coaching panel is getting off lightly tonight.

Our ball movement was straight out of 2016 for three quarters, what were our coaches doing?

Tigers innovating again. The Whole team backed Cotch in the coin toss. When the Hawks saw this they quickly went running from about 10 metres from the goal square to back Stratton at the centre circle but were too late!
I missed that. Certainly didn't happen again.

This is very true. I thought the exact same thing. There was no flow or aggressive ball movement to our game. We looked like the 2016 version of the RFC tonight and a long long way from the 2017-2019 version.
