I reckon Imperatriz would have won The Everest if she went that way.

Be all over her next year.

Not a lot of time to give reasoning today on way to the great man's 50th.

Hopefully keep the perfect spring going!

Valley

Race 3 - Osmose

Race 5 - Prowess

Race 9 - Romantic Warrior save on Gold Trip

Randwick

Race 1 - Chief Conductor

Race 6 - Numerian

Race 7 - Tom Kitten

Race 8 - Magic Time also quinella with Espiona

GL!!

missed one valley race 7 Apulia

3 lovely winners at $5, $4 and $3 and another Saturday with yet another lovely Profit for the Prince.

Keeping our perfect record of no losing days for the spring.

Couple of thoughts:

As mentioned earlier, beware backing this 3 year old crop against older horses. Militarize and King Colorado finished 8th and 12 in the Plate continuing the poor form against open age.

Also saw some tipping Duais as a horse to follow. Beware. Like Muanga you'd love to own it, but its a nonnie.

Sits off pace, while the good horses do the work then zips home passing a few late.

That profile just doesn't consistently win races. Don't get sucked in.

Story:

As we know, it's been a massive fill up this spring and been running out of room in the golf bag (Mrs Leysy never checks there) for all the folding.

Have needed to shift it before the Minister of Finance has ideas on spending it on a family holiday.

What better way of moving money than getting into another horse. So bought into one that sold on Inglis Digital recently you may have heard of.

Poland.

Will be trained by a gun Gavin Bedggood. Tipping him out for a spell then return about christmas. He has some ability so fingers crossed.

Tommy not going to be happy.

Eagles have fumbled and turned over the ball twice. Both times in the red zone.

1st and goal at the 2, then 1st and goal at the 1.

Nice way to launder the hard earned LD.

Best of luck with it.

They were saying yesterday that Bedggood has an outstanding record with purchasing tried horses. Poland does have some ability; good luck.

Did anyone see the best horse in the world go around yesterday? Equinox destroyed a high quality field over 2000m in the Tenno Sho in Japan. Ran 1.55.2!!!! To put that in perspective the 2000m record at Flemington is held by Makybe Diva at 1.58.73; over 3.5 seconds slower. Equionox is an incredible horse; the Japanese really know how to breed tough champions.

I believe next start will be Japan Cup over 2400m where he will take on another star in Liberty Island. She's a 3yo filly so he should have her measure but it will be some race.

Yeah he's a bloody gun. Not afraid to try different things with horses to get the best out of them. He also rides some trackwork himself which can't hurt.

Poland has a bad habit of pulling too hard in his races, so he's sending him to do some dressage to hopefully teach him some manners and to settle better. One of the update videos here FWIW.

Will be interesting to see how he progresses. Good luck with it. You need plenty of that in racehorse ownership!

Bendigo cup today punters. Reckon one at odds might run a race.

Win O'clock - had good Europe form (timeform 110) and took time over shorter distances to build fitness in first Aus campaign. Went bang when got over a journey in Hamilton Cup last start.

Might just do the same today over more ground and bigger track for gun trainer/jockey Matt Williams and Dean Yendall.

Worth an E/W bet at $21

Interesting hearing this story about Vic bookies losing ~ $2m in a ponzi scheme at an Ivanhoe lawyers firm.

Is it just me or is Derby Day a little underwhelming this year ?

For mine it is. And I blame that egomaniac V’Landys for generating the longest racing carnival known to man In Sydney. I bat on about him a lot but geez he’s a prick. Might be good for NSW racing but for the sport as a whole he blows.

Looking at future‘s markets next Saturday at headquarters looks like it has the makings of a great card, probably better than tomorrow’s. Never used to say that about the upcoming week.

R1. Brave Mead the justified fave. Had the run of the race last time and was too good when a gap opened. $3 is better value than the $3.30 for Heman methinks. Maps well again.

Rovno Amber closed off well in the same race as Brave Mead and the mile should suit. $41/$7 looks e/w overs. Wide draw won't hurt as it gets back anyway.

The other I like is Ersa ($10), which has had two goes at the mile already, cantering to a 9L win in a Ballarat maiden then just beaten by Mojave Desert who hadn't been far off Griff. Also competitive first-up against Grinzinger Belle over 1300. Will save ground on the fence and be close enough to have a crack.

R2. Laying Athabascan. Ladies Man/Mostly Cloudy play.

R3. Rose Quartz and Dancing Alone.

R4. Triple Missile not far from Star Patrol. Chain of Lightning.

R5. Zardozi.

R6. Stretan Angel.

R7. Verdad e/w

R8. Might just watch.

R9. Tamerlane/Here To Shock.
