Thoroughbred racing

A few winners to Leysy Boy there. Shame the Tiger boys couldn't win with Soulcombe in the Caulfield Cup. Started too far back and Craig Williams had to do catch up in the end. Geez....Mark Zahra's wife's a character!!!
Williams butchered that ride. Keep safe for the Cup.

Race 6: Spacewalk: Godolphin have ironed out the kinks in this talented galloper. Maps to sit just off a hot pace and go BANG @ $2.50

When I saw this tip, I was conflicted. Was tipped Doull by someone who rarely lets me down, but Leysy is in white hot tipping form.

So I ended up going the quinella.

Nice pick up, although I thought I might have got a bit more than $9.80. I guess no third divvy didn't help my cause.

Yeah the price was lean Streak. Normal rule of quinella's is you times the odds of the two runners then half it.

i.e. your race should have been 2.5 X 13 = 32 then halved = 16.

Stiff.

OK folks! The Saturday Set is ready!

Can we keep the perfect record of winning every Sat this spring in tact!!

GL All!!

Caulfield:

Race 1: Brave Mead: Up to 1400m that has been screaming out for. Gets the perfect ,ap to sit just off the two Waterhouse horses and go BANG! $2.50 is a yes.

Race 4: Facile: Form around Learning to Fly last campaign then won in great time first up against Joliestar who has franked the form. Again maps very well on pace. $2.90 is a bet.

Race 5: Azula: Gaibot flyer who has trialled up a bomb. Leads and takes power of catching on its form last campaign. Overs at $8.00

Race 6: Spacewalk: Godolphin have ironed out the kinks in this talented galloper. Maps to sit just off a hot pace and go BANG @ $2.50

Race 8: Buffalo River: Headcase who if jumps with them will simply run them into the ground at $5

Race 9: West Wind Blows: We will know in the first 200m if barrier two is a godsend or a horror. We're banking on the former. HUGE run in the Turnbull and if bounces off that in anyway will take a power of beating @ $7. Will save on Hoo Ya Mal who's UK and now Aus form stacks up to run very well at odds.

Randwick:

Race 2: Lawyers Delight: In a typically open Highway, this horse is massive overs with no weight and great map. @$18 a great E/W bet.

Race 5: Kazou: Massive massive wraps on the fav commemorative, and will need to be good to beat Kazou who trialled like a jet. Will lead for fun, kick on the bend, then white knuckle time as it tries to hang on. $5 is a play.

Race 8: Cotehele: Returned from a spell when a tragedy beat first up. Can atone today @ $4.50.

GL Everyone!

3 winners from 9 bets @ $5, $5 and $2.50 for another Profit from the Prince.

Keeping our perfect record of not having a losing day for the Spring.

Could have been so much more though with West Wind Blows, Spacewalk and Facile all beat in photos and the E/W play beaten in a photo for 4th.

That's punting though.

We'll dust ourselves off and go again and keep the evil bookies PAYING UP!

Ok, done a bit of early Cox Plate form and Romantic Warrior at $4.20 is a bet. Was just a leg stretch in the Turnbull and not far off them with JMac leaving the whip in the holster.

If Militarize can start better it's a big shot with the good draw and 49.5kg, might get shuffled back and boxed in though. Currently $8, if it gets to 10 I'll have something on it too. Save Fangirl and the flying Gold Trip.

Best Cox Plate for years. Could easily back 5 or 6 horses with a degree of confidence.

Like your picks Spooka. They are both in my top 3 along with Brightside. I like betting early but going to sit back and see what happens with betting, track bias etc.

Funny, ezy texted me earlier what a weak field it is! The race hasn't seemed to be the high class classic it used to be for a while now.

Don't think Mr B gets 2000. Fangirl ran away from him last week.

Am 50% with you Spooker.

Romantic Warrior - Yes. If runs anywhere near its best, that is too good for the rest of the field.

None of the lot could thrash Dubai Honour (who thrashed Anamoe) like it has.

Your banking on it improving 3 lengths from the Turnbull. If it has it wins.

Not with you on Militarize though. Think this 3 year old crop is decidedly average (and even). Take a massive step up on any of its runs to figure in the finish for Leysy.

I was there when the 109-rated maiden Shamus Award beat Fiorente, Happy Trails, Green Moon et al. Militarize's (rated 117) last run was better than it looks.

reckon the three you mentioned said it all.

handicappers.

agree militarize last run was ok, but even when it won the golden rose the start before it was a blanket finish with a number of unlucky runners.

anyway good discussion, time will tell if it can with stand the heat when the blood cranks it up at the 600.

Not a lot of time to give reasoning today on way to the great man's 50th.

Hopefully keep the perfect spring going!

Valley

Race 3 - Osmose

Race 5 - Prowess

Race 9 - Romantic Warrior save on Gold Trip

Randwick

Race 1 - Chief Conductor

Race 6 - Numerian

Race 7 - Tom Kitten

Race 8 - Magic Time also quinella with Espiona

GL!!

Like Militarize and Victoria Road in Cox Plate. European middle distance and staying horses are panels above ours. If VR has acclimatised he will be hard to beat. I’m taking on the Hong Kong form but it is a risk in doing so given that RW did smash Dubai Honour as Leysy mentioned.

Really like Prowess as well. Think she could be a star just hope the early setback in her preparation hasn’t put her back too much.

Off to a good start.

Wishlor Lass and Gumdrops both saluting.

I too like RW in the Cox.

Best of the day is Arctic Glamour at Randwick.
