Thoroughbred racing

It's Xmas day for punters!! The saturday set is in!

Let's keep the spring from heaven going!!!

Flemington:

Race 1: Heman. Nice lead with Zahra off Brave Mead to ride this and the money is on. Finished like a train last start. On the up. Maps perfectly to go BANG and get us away in the first at $3.30

Race 4: Triple Missile - Form lines exceptional through Star Patrol. Set for this, flies second up and loves the straight. J-Mac (who could be in for a big one) the icing on the cake at $3.50.

Race 7: Riff Rocket. Not overthinking this. Has had the best last (or equal to) 600 of the meetings its past two. Loves this track, love the gap between runs. Waller/J-Mac. Tick. Reckon we'll get better than the current $2.40 as well. Best roughie Air assault.

Race 8 - Atishu. This is a horse that needs to right race shape and map. He get's it today and time to jump on. Loads of pace in the race, need a horse that can get 2,000 to win this. Will camp just off midfield, loves this track (was truck loaded to win at the carnival last year) and will go BANG for J-Mac again at $5. *Best of the day. Best Roughie Life Lessons

Race 9 - Tamerlane. Tipped it last time when won the last race. Similar setup today but draws better. J-Mac to lead em (Flem 1400 great for that) rack em, stack em and win again.

Rosehill:

Race 2: Nails Murphy - Maps perfectly. If in anyway bounces off its first up run in Aus like most do, will win at $3.80

Race 5: Overriding. Moral rolled first up. Draws well this time, lands on-speed, makes own luck. A bet at $2.60,

Race 7: Private Eye. Love this horse. Swap barriers, you swap runs you swap results with fav first up. Can get one off today and go BANG for Nash at $3.30.

Race 8: Hawaii Five Oh. Maps perfectly now drawn a gate. Set for this. The big horse to camp just off them and go BANG for Nash again. A great bet at $5. The Kiwi Legarto the danger.

Race 9: Stroke of Luck. Maps perfectly. Drops a ton in weight. Flew second up. Ripper bet to get finish the day at $7.50.

Big time jockeys for big time days. GL!!

PS don't bet in Sydney yet. chance the rain arrives if so will stop betting. most of mine are dry trackers

Bet365 is offering even money for JMac to ride 2+ winners. Tamerlane, Zardozi, Triple Missile, Riff Rocket, Athabascan, Atishu, Shinzo, Influential. If he can't win on at least 2 of those I'd be very surprised.

Is it just me or is Derby Day a little underwhelming this year ?

For mine it is. And I blame that egomaniac V’Landys for generating the longest racing carnival known to man In Sydney. I bat on about him a lot but geez he’s a prick. Might be good for NSW racing but for the sport as a whole he blows.

Looking at future‘s markets next Saturday at headquarters looks like it has the makings of a great card, probably better than tomorrow’s. Never used to say that about the upcoming week.
Totally agree Mopsy. V’Landys is a *smile*. A $10m race for 4yos??? *smile* off. What a ridiculous idea. How about that $500k Midway today. Absolute goat race. Worst $500k race in history of Australian racing.

What a joke.

Start studying for the cup day gents. Need a sure a fire quaddie and people’s cup tip with their level of certainty attached.
I’m warming to Serpentine

Ouch.

As others have said a tough day on the punt.

Still can't believe Private Eye got beat.

Leysy's nag Shalook runs in race 5 at Goulburn to hopefully retrieve the weekend. Trainer confident will run well. Hopefully gets the one one and uses its short sharp sprint to put them away.

Reckon the Richmond boys horse (Soulcombe) must be a chance with magic Joia Moriera on board. Hopefully doesnt give them a start as he has a bad habit of doing.

You can get $10 each way to find out.

If the favourite lives up to the hype then maybe racing for second.

Good punting all.

Hopefully back to winnings wats after Sat.

keen without a fight in the cup. has all the right form lines and the best big race jockey. Gets its conditions as well. tick tick tick.

best roughie vow and declare.

best of the day race 2 Sibaaq. very handy weight drop and might just get its own way in front kick and win.

GL!

Nice slaughter Merterns. Sub 12 seconds for every split in an 1800m race. Winx couldn’t have won running those splits. Those splits would’ve just about won a Newmarket. Back to the bush Merterns you hack!!!

I've backed Without A Fight in the Cup at $8. Had it in the Caulfield Cup so it owes me nothing.

Was just mucking about on Ladbrokes and got $6 about Vauban using an odds boost.

Concerned that it seems to be drifting but couldn't knock back that price.

Good choice from Zahra by riding Without a Fight instead of Gold Trip. Yellow and black jockey colours the omen.....

Magic Man needs to give himself an uppercut. Got completely outridden by Zahra. Soulcombe had the back of WAF the whole race but when they made their moves he didn’t go with him. Magic Man outsmarted himself. Watch the overhead shot of the complete race if you can find it. Just saw it on Racing.com. Very telling.
