I have a small interest in a couple going around at the 'Bool this afternoon. Race 3 Be Instant and Race 5 Queen Leonora. Both first up and both will improve on the run but still given a good chance probably more Queen Leonora than Be Instant but both around the $5 so worth a dollar each way. All care, no responsibility!

For the weekend, a couple at good odds

Caulfield Race 5 Scenic Sight (as I have previously stated I cannot catch D Weir so this makes the stablemate and favourite a certainty)
Adelaide Race 4 Duquessa

Both each way at double figure odds.

Sticking with Youngstar in the Cup but not overly confident as there are so many internationals it makes it hard to line up the form.

Good luck Punters.

T44

Good luck today T44.

I reckon Dark Confidant in the same race as Scenic Sight is a chance for a place at good odds, has drawn the car park 4 starts in a row now so might get too far back.
Youngstar has got to be hard to beat, i hope one of the Aussie horses can win. I like Ace High, he's a good on pace horse, hasn't been missed by the handicapper though.

Ok think it could be my last roll of the dice in the pre punter of the year, so im trying for $200.

Mr5 very ellegant win all up mr8 younstar Place all up mr9 Booker Place

$10 to $200 ;D

Booker EW my bet of the day

Sticking with kings to win the cup

Two seconds T44. Not too bad.

I'll be going tomorrow in the members if anyone else will be there.

Barriers are the most overrated thing in racing ILHO.

Edit: watched some internationals replays last night. Think Best Solution is a huge chance in the C Cup at odds. Will be sticking with Kings, but at $20 will be investing on Best Solution also. Will probably back best solution for the Unco's and try go to top of table ;D

Edit 2: An example of barriers influencing my decision making. Best Solution draws 17, Kings 6. King will get the run of the race a couple back on the fence, best solution will need to either work his arse off to get a spot or drop back and circle 'em. I back Kings.

So Leysy's right. again.

lucky I had a bit on Best Solution before the barrier draw. lobster tonight

Wrinkles Williams had to do his best work not to fall off King Will Dream at the jump, literally, and all was lost.

A huge run easy, if he jumps with them, he wins.

Pace set by Aussie Ollie?

But I am wondering what the prize money would be for our major races if there was No international participants? As an owner I would rather have a starter in a $3m Caulfield cup than be balloted out of a $5m race.

Maybe punters feel better putting their hard earned on an international event rather than a domestic one?
Does the Kentucy Derby get all stressed over the fact that 95% of every runner in the races history was bred in the USA?

It was a very strange race. You could see a heap of horses pulling to get going and running onto the heels in front..

But credit to the winner. He is one tough hombre it takes a tough hombre to win a caulfield cup.

Godolphin having a scintillating year.

I wonder if The Sheik will throw a few bucks to a mental homeless person?

Can't argue with the winner. Biggest weight, wide barrier and gutsed it out. I was on CoM and Holsman so it was tough to watch. The Sheik seems to be bringing out better, or better suited horses.

Not so sure. The winner missed the start by more than Kings and raced 3 wide around the first turn.

we'll never know JB.

Not sour grapes, cause I backed both,

but I thought out wide was a blessing. horses out there could stride out while inside horses were taking disconcerting baby steps.

Turns out Kings stood on himself at the start and opened out his front leg. Also copped a pillocking on the turn.

I think he was one of the best things beat ive seen in a while.

having said all that, you're right, best solution was colosally tough. exactly like his german G1 wins. grinds out and refuses to let horses go past him.

how was the day on course? find a winner/ get pissed?

Fingers crossed for Brad Rawiller and Brian Higgins who have had a bad fall at Cranbourne. Brad he hit the deck really hard, he's a massive Tigers fan, i hope they are both ok.

Must be some serious injuries, they are both conscious. The rest of the meeting has been called off because the jockeys are concerned for their mates and the amount of time lost. The Ambulances are just leaving for hospital now, which is over an hour after the fall.

Just got in from a flying weekend visit to Adelaide to see Daughter no 1 and grand daughter no 1 (8 weeks old)!

Well done to those that found the Cup winner - still looking for Youngstar, got way too far back and never likely.

Sat in the airport on Friday afternoon waiting for my delayed flight and watched both mares run second at the ‘Bool. Both good runs and they will improve for the run and over more ground. Would have been nice to start the weekend off with a winner however! Have another one having her first start on Tuesday at Kilmore - My. Pendant, 3yo filly by Pins, goes ok but would prefer to see before having a crack but being the mug punter I am will probably have a few dollars each way. Another couple probably at Ballarat Thursday but will post later in the week.

Back to Caulfield - and as predicted I made DK Weir’s day by backing his roughie to ensure Verry Elleegant was a certainty - and duly saluted. I fixed him up later though by having a crack at Extra Brut - DK Weir’s best of the day and ran very poorly. As stated cannot catch him so might have to just ignore him which is difficult as he has so many and wins so often.

Not a good day’s punting but sitting in a Pub TAB in Port Elliot teaching my 8 week old granddaughter the finer things about punting (lol) - well life’s pretty good. Not too many homeless around there. Hope Easy made someone’s day around where he is!

Go Tigers!

Go Tigers!

I trust that you took over a Richmond jumper for your grand daughter. Perish the thought that she might end up a Crows or Power supporter ;D

Been a Tiger member for about 9 months and 8 weeks 8- Tried but couldn't attach a photo of her first jumper Mrs T44 knitted for her - was our 2017 premiership jumper. Her father is a Crows supporter but never in doubt who she would be following! Her name is Tess but of course will often be Tiger Tess!

Well done to all, it's great to have another Tiger supporter :clap

Another second at Kilmore today, My Pendant ran a good race but couldn't quite make up the ground on the winner. As with the two from Warrnambool last Friday the winner was ridden by L Meech.

$8.20 a place was a nice return and recovered some of the lost ground from last Saturday at Caulfield.

Have 2 in at Ballarat Thursday, I'm Buxom and Fabric both should run really well - hopefully not second! Certainly worth a dollar or two each way. All care no responsiblilty.

I'm Buxom had a minor issue so didn't run, probably going to Geelong next Thursday. Fabric ran another !@#$%%@@ second. Was backed from $11 to $3.50 but was very green and will be much better for the experience.
Happily to Be in the first at Echuca today to try to break this run of seconds, only 5 in it so should run in the first five but is a little different to the rest of this crop of Waikato Stud fillies/mares is probably best suited around 1200m unlike the others that are all 1600m+ types. Should go ok but would prefer to wait and see - but have had a few dollars each way at $10.

Roughies for the weekend - Libran MV race 8 no 10 and Artful Rambler Adel race 7 no 4 both each way and appear good value

Good punitng all
