Thoroughbred racing

Moonee Valley is a bookies' track. Someone orta torch it. I might just do Sydney on Satdy...

'Cept of course any roughies me mates tip me...

Legless Veuve is having a nice Spring.

I shall investigate.

Mossbeat in the last at Sale on Sunday. Blinkers off as she has been over racing - is much better suited off the pace. Likely wet track won't hurt her chances.

I am in Bali recovering from the stress of Trade Week (or month or whatever it was) so can't watch it or even bet - may have to rely on some left behind! Couldn't recommend a win bet but may be good value for a place - haven't seen any odds.

Happy to leave MV to the experts (which in case you haven't noticed is not me).

Back for Derby Day.

Good punting one and all

Ok, here's one for Randwick tomorrow:

R6, N2, Hipparchus.

Horribly held up last start, now third-up at 2000, a distance at which it is 3-2-1-0. Also won third-up last prep. It's $11 into $7.50 but you can make that $9 with Ladbrokes odds booster.

Watch how badly it was held up last start. Could have won:

(It's the one on the inside in the white cap)

I'll have a look tomoz, spook. Their server is down for now.

I had two bets tonight at the Valley for no good. Not my kind of programme.

I just want to comment on the standard of riding on the night. It was, in the main, incompetent. I could spend a week and five thousand words to outline it. It would take me a lifetime to detail.

The young riders coming through are few and then not inspiring. And the geriatrics are past it. Hugh Bowman should be claiming three on current form. Kerrin McEvoy is still elite when in front, but so bad are the other riders that he can bring one with a well-timed run these days.

Dolly Dunn did nothing wrong on Chautauqua, which is at least amiss and possibly gone. But he did nothing right all night.

Ben Melham humiliated them in the Manikato. These other riders are fools. Proof before your eyes.

Axiom of Racing #001 - The rail is never off.

How foolish do these imbeciles look rolling off it?

There is some real racing to take place in the Big City over the next few weekends. Perhaps the cockies who get paid millions to snort tapeworms can lift over that period.

Chautauqua place, all up Winx win, Silvera place, paying $7.85.
Good punting every one.

ouch.

Its hardly rocket surgery, but I'll be taking the 90% tax free interest, paid daily on Winx.

wont be getting cute.

disagree on the Valley hate. Its my favourite track. And the Cox plate is my favourite race. And Winx is my second favourite horse, after Sunline.

Glorious. All deserving of knighthoods.

My favourite horses are Kingston Town, Might and Power and So You Think. Soft spot for Doriemus (backed him when he won the Cup, quinelled him with M&P when they ran 1-2), Pierro (got the tip months out that he'd win the Slipper, wish they'd let him race on) and Zipping (backed him every time he won Sandown).

Second Wave for the Plate. Just missed out on 2nd spot last week in the CC with the Irish horse Scottish ( :hihi), surely this other Irish baby has to win this time.

Plan B double my bet.

Winx win all up Silvera win and place

WTF happened to Second Wave....choked or hurt? Dropped back really bad.

Yankee Rose over Winx...easy. ;D

Ef me what a performance from Winx. Fast becoming one of the greatest ever

Amazing mare. Definitely was 6 lengths on a wet track.

Give little Yankee a couple more years and the filly will be at equal strength.

I'll stick with Scottish as my fave for the MC along with some others. Dunno about Hartnell.....over-rated? ;D

Brilliant ....is the competition that good or is she that good

Think she might be that good. 13 in a row, two space jobs in a row in the Cox Plate. Comfortably beat Hartnell who has smashed everyone else including the easy winner of the CC. Hope they take her overseas.

Or run her in the Melb Cup - now that would be as story.

Can she run past 2400m?
