Good day for favourite punters

Not my day, jb. Did you find one?

Anybody? I ended specking Seaburge so got something back on a losing day.

If I do the study I like to do a post mortem.

Charlie Boy was awful. Raced at least eight below his best. The fact is he does that every second start. It's who he is. I take my lumps. Rough Justice ran second (and a good second). The race was eminently winnable. Additional note. Chide self - Charlie Boy is last year's news. ERROR. NB Closed $28 the 'Fair. Bottomless.

Sebring Dream was yet again unsuited by a slow tempo. Hey, it's Caulfield - can happen. She sat last the rail off that pace. Michael Walker then cut five corners and saved eight lengths riding the way Michael Walker does. Sebring Dream sauntered into the affair but was outgunned by superior runners, better placed in running. A good spec but IMO was flattered by a typically outstanding Walker ride. Fine spec at $61/10.

Flamberge. The change in stable did matter. ERROR. D K Gear is not a predictable stable. And it remains to be seen whether Flamberge was the Jobe Watson of races anyway. (That Oakleigh Plate win was Jab Watson stuff.) Furthermore the 3yo bitchslapped them. Fresh thought required. Flamberge closed $11 the 'Fair but should have been $29 the way he ran. The stable was smart enough not to lay. ;)

Malaguerra. After changing to a very unfashionable stable Malaguerra did well. He was the measure of the race. Melham settled him well back. Interesting. That's not usually Melham's caper. Malaguerra is at least a very good second tier sprinter. G2. At least. There is money in this Malaguerra. Melham can get the horse over the line. The trainer will consult him.

Star Turn was impressive. Giving hope that the crop of 3yos coming through may have talent. At least as sprinters.

Thank Winx for God.

I know it was only a $600K track gallop, but she treated The North Melbourne of Horses with disdain.

you could see Bowman laughing.

I hope Hartnell sizzles in work, Winx draws 16, and Elbows hits the hamburgers and cant make the weight and they put Les Boots on Her.

Then she could start at $2.5

My spring now hinges on Jameka in the CC Saturday.

Head above water jd. Flamberge was poor, the others ran to expectations or with excuses. Flamberge a big drifter too.

Nice work Jack. Weren't far away in a couple, especially Sebring.

When you back at your prices it is expected.

Assign and moreso the best bet Sheidel gave leysy a winning but not outstanding day.

Enough to build the kitty a bit more as we look to the Heath again in 7 days.

The Coolmore Stakes is shaping up to be the race of the Spring Carnival, especially if Extreme Choice, Astern, Star Turn, Russian Revolution, Capitialist, and Flying Artie were to all start. They are all seriously quick horses, i hope they all run it.

Horse Racing i am quiet a fan of the horses.
I enjoy a punt or two or three or even four.
i have become a student recently last year making the trip to a few of the big days, Cox Plate, Derby Day and Emirates staked day.
My faviorite horse was
She's Archie but she suffered and injury forcing her to never race again.
But my faviourite now is probably Delzao, Womban Road, Capadan and lucky Diva.

Bear started this thread a long time ago. Many big stories since.

The cupboard has been "bare" a few times since 2005.

Go Super Elegant! He's won me a fair stack over the years (that gets blown on others ;D ). An Oakleigh Plate would top it off.

On sprinters, was at Sha Tin during the week where you can buy a Silent Witness t-shirt (the colours of black with crossed lime braces)

Where you at, broo?

Dane is lonely.

Like a couple at Caulfield this weekend. My Country in race 3 - great each way value. Have also backed I Am A Star in the Thousand Guineas ($21) and Sacred Elixir in the Caulfield Guineas ($8 with odds boost). Happy to take on the Sydney boys as they often struggle at Caulfield first time anti clockwise.

My Country beaten by not much, I Am A Star a good second sums up my day. Quite a few seconds. Luckily backed them each way so ended about square. Did find Sheidel, well done Leysy.

Warming to the German horse in the Caulfield Cup but Jameka has to be hard to beat. Don't like many of the locals - reckon they are an average bunch. Lloyds Almandine might be the next best.

My daughter was born on Caufield Cup day the year Diatribe won. I backed him. It was a helluva day. Ive always enjoyed the Caufield more than the Melbourne Cup.

The Turnbull is the best form for The CC IMHO.

Jameka beat the Turnbull field by as much as Hartnell beat her.

She stays, loves Caufield, she sprints. she wins.

That was robbery, tm. :beer

I think the value runners are the ones to be on in the Thousand Guineas. I Am A Star...

I was the only one too smart to back it, spook.

What a difference it makes to have S King on your horse. I Am A Star didn't go 'round a blade of grass. Gai's are always strong in the final 100. She can push on from here, she's all class. Global Glamour too good though.

A mate and I are in the quad by virtue of too much gin. Only had Foxplay and I Am A Star and somehow ended up with the two favourites. Perhaps the punting Gods are smiling on us. Good punting, PREnders.

That quaddie paid massive. Not enough gin!

Finishing square is underrated, T44. We're gunna talk about that CC. The German is right in it.

It certainly is, tm. I'll be smashing the winner. ;D

You got a good price about her, didn't ya, brother?

There are some stables I dislike and others I hate. And I have my share of luck with the hated. In fact, I finish well in front on them. I hate a particular stable when I'm convinced that they can't train - they can only drug.

But my winning experiences with loathed stables reminds reminds me of Axiom of Racing #001 - Bet with awareness of the obstacles to winning.

Caulfield Guineas Day is not my day. Thousand Guineas Day is. That's today. (Shame they moved the big race. ;D)

Caulfield Race 8

Egypt has very good form right next to Don't Doubt Mama, who would eat these. Egypt likes Caulfield but is a query at a mile with poor racing patterns. I strongly dislike the stable, rarely betting on its runners. Ollie is hungry ATM. She's right in this race. But who knows what the stable will do? I've saved on her.

Snowden's runner is fully-raced with G3 3yo form in front of males. She had a full campaign in the autumn finally winning over them. Serene Majesty is third up and two over the limit with Hughie on. A Caulfield winner. Ready to win this start or next. I've backed her today. This may not be her grand final but it probably should be. It's the right class for her and IMO a very weak G3 for this time of year. She's yet to prove that she's not something of a bridesmaid but we get the right rider to deal with that. And $4 the drum anyway.

She looks carefully placed to me. That Caulfield win matters.

I may save on the Hawkes in the trifecta but I believe it is a false favourite.

Good luck, PREnders.

I should mention that in Race 8 there are two other interesting runners. Iggamacool is not ready IMO. And I rate Alaskan Rose lower on a dry track. But I think she's very smart.

The mile is the query, particularly straight out from six furlongs. I'm doing my research on this ATM. Looking for skinny. The stable backs this horse. They have a big opinion. She could be underdone but she shouldn't be. This looks her race. What's she set for? A mile win is good for her breeding credentials. It should be this. I'm trying to get some scoop.

$11, 10, 9.50, 9...

This is no spec. It's bet or smash. The mile and the stage of campaign queries vs the jockey and the careful soft placement.

She's firming because the market is reading the form. It's not stable money IMO.

If I can't get any scoop I'll bet late if I go again. And then it will be tenfold. I'm watching for sustained money.

I'll post if I get some skinny.

$8 straight after the Naturalism. Topped up with some $4.

If she runs faster than all the others, I'll be going all up Winx in The Plate.

Although watching the George Ryder, Hauraki pushes her, relatively to every other horse shes raced in the last 12 months.

and Hauraki's Epsom was one of THE most slashing runs ive seen in a while. Its The Valley, so slashing runs will be difficult, but I think im just worried enough to have a 10% saver on him. If Winx and Hartnell are going toe to toe at the 600m, it could

be set up for a slasher

Your horse got smashed into favouritism and finished strong. Might be looking for a bit further.

Euro Angel was way too good though. Dunn sat her 3-4 wide the trip and she won easily. Talented. 6:3-2-1. 3 from 4 first up, plus a 2nd.

Just a run, spook. The steam was just that. I never like that kind of plonk. My bad. BTW I couldn't get scoop (bulletproof scoop) so didn't get hurt.

She biffed them. The race panned out the reverse of what I thought. Steam for mine, the Hawkes too good.

On Dolly, what, nine wide all the way? Must've drawn nine. Was it a Blue Diamond? Slaughtered to victory. ;D To be fair he's in career best form. Did you find the Hawkes? Impressive in poor company. Will win again soon.
