Well done Rosy

Ta Rolls. I almost ran off the road listening in the car. It was very exiting leading all the way. If only the race was a couple of metres shorter we would have had it.

Bad luck Bernie. Only heard the first leg and it sounded like you weren't too far away.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Well done Rosy, I dips me lid to you maam!

My bloke is entered at Kembla Grange this Sat and Canberra on Tues (nommed for two), plus a non TABer at Moruya. The Kembla option looks too hot so will probably start at Canberra.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

My bloke, Navaho Trail, is in a six horse field at Canberra next Tuesday. Big chance of going back to back which is his usual form. But he is coming back from 1400 to the 1200 but has won twice at that distance at Canberra and has Grant Buckley aboard.

Fingers crossed Bernie!

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

To add to the ever increasing PRE stable of neddies to watch is a horse that I part own called Step Dance ( 3 y.o. Footsepsinthesand filly ).
She's having her first start in the first race at Stawell on Easter Sunday.
Trained by Matthew Williams at Warrnambool she's taken a while to get to the races ( no injuries just immaturity ) but we're hoping she's been worth the wait !

PRE Punters Club

Rosy's Our Tigeress ran a great race for 2nd being just caught on the line - paid a magnificent $3.60 for the place - gives a collect of $18 which is a win for PRE Punters Club from Rosy of $8.

Bernie's all up bets were both unlucky and chased home the winners hard but just couldn't catch them as they both stole a march at the top of the straight in their respective races. Next time Bernie.

Add the $4 win from Blood_17 two weeks ago and Rosy's $8 = $12 PRE Punters Club owes PRE Admin. (I will wait until the total gets to $20+ and then remit it)

This week the champion - Rosy 23 takes on the challenger - Tiger44

Tiger44 please take it up to the three times champion and give her a run for her money. And Rosy don't you go easy on Tiger44 just because he's a good bloke.......

Please have your selections posted on this thread by 11am Saturday. Thanks.......RT

(On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punter(s) in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). 8. A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of The Year 2011

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Good luck with your filly on Sunday bringbackflemmo and also Bernie for Tuesday.

Remote, I will have $5 each way Caulfield races Saturday, Race 8 Number 9, Fabulist. :help Has drawn the Car Park but is fit and well and if she runs up to her best will not be far away. This of course requires all the stars to align, for the track to suit swoopers, for her to find a nice sit not too far back in the run, for the track not to be too wet, for something else not to run too fast etc. etc. (lol)

If she is scratched I will have $10 win Caulfield Race 1 number 3, Light Touch.

Good luck Rosy, make sure you choose wisely - like the Kangas this Sunday - all the pressure is on you.

Thanks again Remote for your generosity.

Go Tigers

Haha good tactics T44. No pressure on me. I'm the first to admit I fluke any tips that get up.  Either my lucky pin works or it doesn't.

I reckon the pressure is actually on the colts and geldings to make sure the only filly old gray mare in the field doesn't get to the post before them. :help

Ditto.  Greatly appreciated. The Punters Club is good fun.

Double good luck to T44.  Hope Fabulist can do it for you and for the Punters Club.

Good luck to all our PREnders' horses who are running soon.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Bigpond has redesigned its horse racing video channel. Do you think any of the links to the replays work? Or that the live streaming of TVN coverage is anywhere to be found?

If anyone can find a link that works for live video or archived replays please PM me. It will make Good Friday very dull indeed if I can't do the video form!

Cheeky buggers

looks like they may be trying to increase revenue http://www.bigpondsport.com/mobile/horseracing/tabid/226/default.aspx

Maybe they haven't finished testing the redesign yet though :p

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

In February we were away and it wasn't on TV so I rang Bigpond to sign up for mobile coverage for that day. They knew nothing about it!

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

A few interesting races this weekend.

The All Aged is on my mind.

I'm working on a dead to good track. Nearer good.

Hay List is a gun. Suited in this company. If it were 6f he'd brain them. Tempo is crucial. Will he settle into a cuddle tempo? Or try to break them? If he's on a cotton rein it's over. But I aint never seen him do that. I'm not inclined to back him. But I can't leave him out.

Rangirangdoo is glamourous and suited. I may have a dip at the $7.50. Still ruminating on that. He's 3 for 2 and 1 at the course. Being beaten only by

Danleigh. Poor form on Heavy tracks. Overlook the Donny failure. 4 for 3 and 0 at the course. Value in the multis. But Dolly Dunn is not a help.

Heart of Dreams is as soft as butter. Welcome to Sydney. He is almost genuine at 1400m. Tempo is crucial. If they try to cuddle Hay List a little and that doesn't work out this bloke has a chance.

Triple Honour is a proven non winner. But his form is rocken. Game over the line atm. $26? Ok. Must be included in the minors.

Shoot Out. Query runner I s'pose. He's 4 for 3 at the track. And 3 for 2 and 1 second up. He's probably a classy sprinter. I'll make a decision about this horse after this race. If he can't run a bottler he's not much good.

Hinchinbrook is one that keeps rolling me. But he's behind Triple Honour as a nonnie for mine.

I don't like Melito in this race if she posts up and tries to Sydney squib a run. But I've always liked her from back in the field with a strong tempo. But $6.50 is way light. I have to take a position and it is anti Melito. Hughie is a plus when his... hmmm... off-field... yeah.

I tried to make a case for Centennial Park and All Silent at the big odds but no can do. At the track they are 6 for 0 and 7 for 0 respectively. They both go well at Flemington and Rosehill.

If Eagle Falls wins the race or even runs a drum contact the RSPCA. It was me. Ribs anyone?

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Well by process of elimination

Firstly if the Rawiller boys ride in Sydney they have to accept they do so without my help. I'm a Melbourne gal :hihi

Secondly would go for De Lilly Lightful in the first cos she's named after my granddaughter but might be better to steer clear of the terrible 2s

Thirdly I've chosen Sunday Rose and Shadowfax cos I like their names as well as fancy their chances but am concerned they might start a bit short for my e/w bet.

So I've ended up with another name fancy at long odds. Won at a simlar distance recently but it seems not one other person in the world has tipped him. There's possibly a very good reason for that but I'll cross my fingers the track stays dead and go for.....

Caulfield Race 6 Horse #8

Paddy O'Rielly $5ew.

Thanks Remote.

Good luck all. Go Fabulist.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Just came into the lounge to see a horse fall at the last jump at Oakbank. It's laying on the ground and hasn't moved. Makes me sick in the guts to see. How long are they going to let it continue?

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Both of the horses I was thinking of for my selection have come last so far. :help
