New kid on the block versus the seasoned and successful campaigner.
Fingers crossed for a good result all round.
Good luck Blood.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Bad luck boys...but how good were the 2 girls in Sydney today. Goosebumps stuff.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Goosebumps for sure, Rosy! The way Black Caviar gave Hay List a big start and ran past him easily was incredible. Shamrocker is as tough as teak and is a sure danger in the spring cups. What a day!

My bloke, Navaho Trail, won the cup at Nowra yesterday at the juicy odds of 11s!

He just loves that course, three starts for three wins at the Archer Raceway.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Fantastic news Bernie, congratulations, wish I had of had a bet but forgot all about it - more fool me!

Fabulist in at Sandown on Wednesday, Race 7 number 3, drawn nicely in barrier 5, will hopefully settle more forward than she has recently. S Arnold to ride, expect her to be in the finish but confidence levels are not high - taken a bit of a denting from her last two very average runs.

I see you are dodging Black Caviar.

Thanks for that. I will keep you informed of things along the Navaho Trail. Next start either at Kembla Grange or Canberra over Easter.

T44 I'll tip something on Fabulist on Weds, so "go girl".

BTW, I'm coming to Melb on Friday in the company of two heathen Collingwood supporters. Will I need to book tickets or just turn up? I'm thinking of taking them to the London Pub ahead of the came so they can be roundly abused!

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Id book mate, particlarly if you want to enjoy a beer or meal beforehand. That way you dont have to stress about getting a decent seat. I reckon 70k attendance despite our effort last week.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

PRE Punters Club

Blood_17 & Son Of Francis both selected horses that gave us great hopes during the running - but alas at the mirror where the bookies pay those horses just couldn't make a dividend.

This week the champion - Rosy 23 takes on the challenger - Bernie

Rosy has been a past winner (twice) of the PRE Punter of the Year and she is always hard to hold out when the Rawiller boys are on song. Bernie is no slouch and will take it right up to Rosy. This will be a tussle to enjoy.......

Please have your selections posted on this thread by 11am Saturday. Thanks.......RT

Order of punters for 2011 - Azzamoot has been included in our club list.

1. Bignige
2. Rolls Royce
3. eastlavy
4. Blood_17 - Return $14.00 - Club House Leader
5. Son of Francis
6. Rosy23 - The Champion
7. Bernie - The Challenger
8. Tiger44
9. happytige
10. Bringbakflemmo
11.Streak
12. felix
13. tannerztigers
14. shamenka

16. Remote Tiger

The rules are simple -

1. Each punting weekend (usually Saturday) there is a challenger and a champion
2. Both the challenger and the champion have $10 to bet - win or place or eachway and/or allup on the thoroughbred horses OR on the AFL.

E.G. Either –
$10 win horse A, or
$10 place horse A, or
$5 win horse A and $5 win horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 place horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 eachway horse A, or
For those who wish to dare it is OK to have
$5 win horse A allup a win horse B, and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B or
$10 a win on an AFL game or
$5 win on an AFL game and $5 a win an AFL game allup another AFL Game or
$10 pick the AFL margin or
$5 pick the AFL margin and $5 pick the AFL scores

3. If you collect more than the $10 outlay and more than your opponent on the day you become the champion next week.

4. Thoroughbred Selections can be at any Saturday metropolitan meeting in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. (On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punter(s) in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). Please post your selections on the thoroughbred thread by 11.00am on the day of the races so it gives me time to find them and put them on. AFL selections have to be on Saturday or Sunday games only (no Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Monday or Tuesday games) and please post your selections by 11am Saturday.

5. All profits on your bet (no matter how small) will be posted to Rosy's bank account to help with the admin costs of PRE

6. All bets are put on Remote Tigers Darwin Bookie IASbet.com hence there is no outlay by other members of the Punting Club.

7. A list of all those who have entered will be determined by draw to define the order of punters. Please keep an eye on the Thoroughbred Thread during the PRE Punter of the Year 2011 punting period so you do not miss your turn.

8. A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of The Year 2011

Thrice times. :D Triple crown 2007, 2008, 2009. Sadly out of form since. Haven't had Nash or Brad available on my betting days for ages.

Was tempted to tip Nash on Miss Independent at Randwick but will stick to tradition and only look at Melbourne.

Don't know a thing about any of the horses so have chosen 2 on name (very technical tipping here). I opted for Koala Bear in the last but wiser heads than mine suggest my other choice might be the better chance. So therefore....

Flemington races

Race 2 Number 8 Our Tigress $5ew please Remote.

Good luck Bernie for the Punters Clup and to everyone else having a bet today.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Well let's get the money early and sit back and watch those good races at Randwick.
Let's put the tenner straight out Cocky Raider in the first at Sydney then all up Gonna be a Rokstar in the first at Flemington. Coincidentally, that's Race 1 Number 3 in each case.
Thanks Remote and all the best Rosy.
I'm returning to my hangover now folks,

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Good luck rosy and Louise aka Bernie

I have our Lonhro filly Morning Rain starting favorite in a local race today. She as drawn (11) in a field of 11 so will need to get across early. This is her second start for us after moving north from Moody stable.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]
