They have ruled that out to date, jb. She'd donkey lick anything in the world. I know there isn't a lot of opposition for her here atm. But she is destroying Australasian sprinters and they are better than any other.

It was a privilege to be at the track to see that today. But she may destroy sprint races until she retires as small fields of C graders like Snapparazi race against her purely for the minor prizemoney while the better sprinters dodge her.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

What Black Caviar did today was downright scary. Crystal Lily would've won 133 of the previous 137 Newmarkets with that run.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Unbelievable win. Backing against her is throwing money away.

Cant agree with the knock on her opposition, it comprised Golden slipper, blue diamond, toorak, salinger & oakleigh plate winners.

Crystal Lily wins that race with a run like that more often than not.

Nice tip on Shocking Dyer ere', hope you launched.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I'd already booked Top gear live tickets so I was literally so close yet so far from seeing the best show. Top gear was very good but id have rather seen the one across the railway line.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Had a few bob on, thanks Bryan. :) Gyps had twice my bet. Got $9 I think.

As it is I had your old boy Eagle Falls going for a new Mini Cooper. After the sprint I had to agree with Gyps that even though he could never beat the champ he didn't turn up because the trainer is incompetent. The horse is not a rogue. By and large I ignore Hayes runners unless Bear has some track scoop.

BTW Gypsy and the boys are playing at Revolver on Thursday night. You're out that way, aren't ya?

Oh and on shitcanning the rest of the field before and after the race I may have been out of line with Crystal Lily. The females filled the first four (what ran fifth?) and that does not bode well. I'll have a good look at Crystal Lily next start. Beaded makes an interesting prospect for various Brisbane seven furlong races particularly if she can get some ease in the ground. Response is not a 6f mare IMO. King Pulse (fifth) is another unknown. Hmmm... I'll take another look after a month or so.

To be fair to the champion mare daylight ran second. It was a blitz.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

For those of you with short memories and deep pockets Fabulist is going around at Caulfield on Saturday. Race 8 number 6, drawn beautifully in barrier 4 over 1400m.

I would prefer her over 1200m at this stage but she is better suited over 1400 than 1000. If the Fabulist that turned up at Moonee Valley last start (she was recalcitrant at best!) turns up, you wouldn't want to be on her but if the other one turns up (that is from every other start she has had) she would be an excellent chance. Currently $10 on TAB Fixed odds which to my mind is very attractive odds.

Has worked really well and is fit and ready to go so with fingers (and everything else) crossed will suggest an each way bet if you can afford it!

Go Tigers

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Whose call is it to send it round over 1400 if you prefer 1200 T44?

Would think there are plenty of 1200 races about.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

The choice of where and what distance to run is entirely up to the trainer as it should be - he knows her heaps better than me. My comment was more from the point of view that her last two runs have been over 1000m so the jump to 1400m is a query. If the distance jump was 200m i.e. she was running over 1200m that would be ideal. The reason she has been dropping out over 1000m is that they have been trying to teach her to settle - should be easier and able to position more forward with the naturally slower tempo of a 1400m race.

Note she has been backed into $9 with TAB - hope that was not all your money jb03?

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Save your money jb, she will be scratched as she has a high white blood cell count. Wait for another day! grrh :(

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Me hopes this is not a clone of our opening match of the season (Bignige is wearing the Scum colours of course for this scenario as i am the underdog).

The rules stop me from loading up on the Tiges.

Can I have an all up Collingwood into Fremantle into The Dogs please RT on straight head to head basis.

Good luck Bignige

The challenge is on varlet! !!!!!! (The big fella waves the form guide around his head like a sword making himself look like a dill in the process)
RT I'll have my tips in on Friday night
good luck rolls and good luck to all punters this year

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Good luck Nige and Rolls. I hope you both get our club off to a winning start.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

As with last week, (except she was scratched) Fabulist is going around at Caulfield tomorrow. A very winnable race, 1200m is perfect at this stage - hope the setback from last week hasn't affected her. She has drawn 12 in a field of 12 but will settle back anyway. If they are running on she is an excellent chance. Each way at around the $8 mark seems a pretty good bet to me.

Go Tigers
