Any considered opinions on Flemington tomorrow?

Nothing jumps off the screen and says back me! Back your own fancies as it is a pretty even race card.

Love Bagot Hcp and Standish Hcp Day - means the start of another year on the punt. Go you good thing!

Looks like I'll have to get the pin out again. Good luck to all having a bet.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

My girl is in at Moonee Valley tonight, Race 6 no 5, Fabulist. Will hopefully get the pace on, if the track is suiting swoopers she is a good chance, each way probably the safest option.

Go Tigers.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Cracking first up run tonight 44.

She definately has some black type in her to navy's eye. The Robert Sangster in Adelaide in a couple of months would be as suitable a Group 1 as there is in the land if she keeps progressing.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Thanks Navy - yes it was a fantastic run, exceeded my expectations. We contemplated scratching her due to the track downgrade but glad we didn't. She just tries so hard she is a chance in anything. One more run and then we will look for a black type race, the race in Adelaide is almost perfect. Her second up record is impeccable, 2 from 2.

Cheers

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Yep it's almost like Fabulist is PRE's horse. It's really fun to follow her, although I missed the latest run.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

The handicapper gets a chance to even things up in the Newmarket. She'll have 58kg, and only one horse in the last 40 years (Shaftesbury Avenue) has won with more than 57. Not keen on anything specific to beat her, but at ~$1.35 I'm happy to just watch.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Loving that Moody is challenging internationals to come down here and take Black Caviar on. Not really much point putting her on a plane... as far I can see, there is only potential downside for her travelling the world. She'll start to attract some pretty hefty appearance bonuses if she keeps winning like she did in the Lightning and Patinack.

I'm actually surprised it takes an Australian sprinter winning by big margins untested to be crowned world champion. If Black Caviar wasn't around, Hay List would probably be the best sprinter in the world. He looks superior to Starspangledbanner, and Ssb was far too slick for the Europeans with Aiden O'Brien boasting how he could break 10 seconds a furlong in his trackwork. Alverta ran 3rd in G1 sprint up there last year FFS! Alverta!

Black Caviar..... WOW!

Just amazing really. I backed Haylist thinking he was overs but you cant help but watch those last few hundred & applaud. Fortunetly warm love kept me going with a place.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

For those of you with deep pockets, Fabulist goes around at the Valley this Friday night. Race 3 No 4. Has drawn beautifully in 3, to be ridden by J Maskiell who claims 1.5kgs. I think the main danger is Tony Vasil's Psychologist which has only had the 4 runs for a win in a Blue Diamond Prelude this time last year. Would be very disappointed if she doesn't finish top three - not sure what price she will be, not expecting much more than about $3 as her last run was well.... Fabulous!

Go Tigers

Should have had a punt at the Oakleigh Plate T44.
