On another note what do people think about the 11 year old Takeover Target being prepared for a return to racing? I hope his body is up to it. Would be very upset if he met a bad fate in the chase for a few more dollars.

Joe J is a typical taxi driver who keeps his vehicle going until it's only good for parts.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I don't think anyone can disagree that Harris Tweed had the best coat of any horse at Caulfield on Saturday. :rofl

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Thanks all you Tiger punters for your kind thoughts. Think you did the trick as I'm back home today and recovering well!

Life could be worse than sitting down beside the fire, with feet up, and being waited on hand and foot.
There's nothing like family and friends (including PREnders) when you're feeling crook!

All you needed to make that perfect was a good Tiger win on the TV.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Good to hear Happytige - ya just can't keep a good man down.

PS Your daughter is a champ too for keeping us informed...........

The Herald Sun wrote that on the main racing forums in the country that punters were mostly displeased with the decision, Rosy. The reality is that he is a gelding, and as long as he can earn prize money Joe Janiak has every right to send him around for another preparation, regardless of whether or not the horse does goes anywhere near as well as his last prep.

Even if the horse fails, his legacy won't be his inability to keep up as an eleven year old. Might and Power, Northerly, Better Loosen up are horses who went around as a shadow of themselves to finish their careers and IMO, they're probably three of the top five Australian race horses in the last 20 years.

What about So You Think yesterday? Spent much of the race fighting soft hands Stevie and still demolished them. Scary stuff.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

HappyTige, good to hear all is well. Just dropping a line in from New York, but didn't want you all to miss that my girl is going around at Sandown on Wednesday, Race 7 No 6 Fabulist. She is fit and well and we are expecting her usual honest run. There are a couple of good ones in the race but with a bit of luck should be thereabouts at the finish. Fingers crosed. Each Way chance.

Go Tigers

Im starting to become a follower of this horse. Has had some great runs at Geelong and should be an interesting run with the field tomorrow.

Geez, i feel like a scum player being labelled a champion when I have won nothing.

Watch out Rosy, all guns blazing this week.

How'd ya go Rolls? I haven't seen any races or results but my husband told me my horse was pretty ordinary, as were the others I was tossing up to go with. I think my lucky pin has been nobbled. Sorry fellas. I'm way out of form this year.

Glad you're back on deck happy. :hearton

Good luck T44. I'll try and remember before the race this time.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Sorry I have no idea but it's intriguing that it isn't related to racing, yet the racing authorities have said they are willing to give Damien counselling. Very puzzling.

Well done T44, it won! Paid $9 or so with an SP of $11.20 on Betfair

He's in a lot of trouble.

Is it related to what Derryn Hinch has been threatening to break ?
