Thoroughbred racing

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

For those interested (and with deep pockets) my mare is going around at Geelong tomorrow. In the last race, number 9 (Fabulist) has drawn beautifully in 2 with J Winks given another chance after an average ride on her a couple of weeks back. Hopefully she will settle nearer the lead and with luck in running should go close. She is getting to be a bit of a money muncher though so tread warily.

Go Tigers

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Good luck T44 and Fabulist. I've got a feeling the luck will go your way tomorrow.

PRE Punters Club

B1’s Gotta Keep Cool’s jockey didn’t do what the horses name says

A poor ride lest B1 lamenting he selected Gotta Keep Cool last Saturday – that’s racing a poor decision by the hoop and the punters money stays in the booky’s bag.....

You’ll get another turn in the chair before the Spring racing carnival is over.

I am very sorry fellow punters for my AWOL on saturday. I had some family problems (all is well now) & honestly it just slipped my mind until yesterday arvo.

So sorry RT as you put in the effort for this & I love having a crack. Hopefully im not blacklisted & will get a show at adding to my tally in spring.

Family takes priority Azzamoot – no need to apologise – are you up for this Saturday? If so you’re off the bench and into the action......

This Saturday 14 August 2010 the champion and challenger are -

Champion = Azzamoot
Challenger = Tony Braxton-Hicks

Azzamoot and Tony Braxton-Hicks – could you please post or PM me to show that you are ok to be the punters this weekend?

The rules are simple -

1) Each punting day (usually Saturday) there is a challenger and a champion
2) Both the challenger and the champion have $10 to bet - either win or place or eachway and/or allup.

E.G. Either –
$10 win horse A, or
$10 place horse A, or
$5 win horse A and $5 win horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 place horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 eachway horse A, or
For those who wish to dare it is OK to have
$5 win horse A allup a win horse B, and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B

3) If you collect more than the $10 outlay and more than your opponent on the day you become the champion next week.

4) Selections can be at any Saturday metropolitan meeting in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. (On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punter(s) in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). Please post your selections on the thoroughbred thread by 11.00am on the day of the races so it gives me time to find them and put them on.

5) All profits on your bet (no matter how small) will be posted to Rosy's bank account to help with the admin costs of PRE

6) All bets are put on Remote Tigers Darwin Bookie IASbet.com hence there is no outlay by other members of the Punting Club.

7) A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of the year, 2010.

Edit: went out for 30 minutes and those nice odds have gone!

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I thought Avenue was a bit unlucky. Covered the extra ground around the turn only to roll back onto the fence, costing her many lengths around the turn. Didn't look at all comfortable in the ground throughout the straight.

Thanks Rosy and jb03. you were right Rosy - she had a lot of luck go her way - winning the race on protest with what I would call minimal interference. Although she did only get beaten about a half head so I guess any interference is costly. Anyway we will gladly take the win and look for another one in a couple of weeks. Apologies for the delay in responding but have been busy all weekend.

Go Fabulist!
