PRE Punters Club

BIGNIGE’s Bonindi greets the judge and PRE greets the bookmaker

Bonindi won at the fixed odds of $7 (6/1) for a delightful $35 collect providing a $30 win – well done BIGNIGE.

RTs Sheedy almost got the last in Sydney Town being beaten by a lip in a photo. A collect of $7.05 was not enough to gain a win!

All-up bet was a return of $16 but alas we had a $5 Place Trixie which costs $20 so we didn’t win there either.
(Our Place Trixie was
$5 a place Bonindi all-up a place Viking Turf Belle all-up a place Sheedy
$5 a place Bonindi all-up a place Viking Turf Belle
$5 a place Bonindi all-up a place Sheedy – this paid $16
$5 a place Viking Turf Belle all-up a place Sheedy)

Rosy - $34.97 being the $30 won this week added to the $4.97 won last week was remitted to PRE Admin Account tonight.......

This Saturday 31 July 2010 the champion and challenger are -

Champion = Bignige
Challenger = Bernie

Bignige & Bernie – could you please post or PM me to show that you are ok to be the punters this weekend?

Hey Bernie – take it from me mate this BIGNIGE is tough to beat – let me tell ya!

The rules are simple -

1) Each punting day (usually Saturday) there is a challenger and a champion
2) Both the challenger and the champion have $10 to bet - either win or place or eachway and/or allup.

E.G. Either –
$10 win horse A, or
$10 place horse A, or
$5 win horse A and $5 win horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 place horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 eachway horse A, or
For those who wish to dare it is OK to have
$5 win horse A allup a win horse B, and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B

3) If you collect more than the $10 outlay and more than your opponent on the day you become the champion next week.

4) Selections can be at any Saturday metropolitan meeting in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. (On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punter(s) in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). Please post your selections on the thoroughbred thread by 11.00am on the day of the races so it gives me time to find them and put them on.

5) All profits on your bet (no matter how small) will be posted to Rosy's bank account to help with the admin costs of PRE

6) All bets are put on Remote Tigers Darwin Bookie IASbet.com hence there is no outlay by other members of the Punting Club.

7) A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of the year, 2010.

The list order of punters is

1. Bernie - Challenger

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Apologies to all for the late notice but my girl (turns 4 on Sunday) is going around on the Thorough Track at Geelong this afternoon. Race 7 number 7 (Fabulist). Is first up from a spell and has been trialling well. Query is the 1000m first up (she is probably best suited to 1200) and the Thorough Track but....... fingers crossed she should go very close. Worth $5 if you can afford to lose it!

Bloody jockeys - barrier 4, she missed the kick by half a length but he decided not to push her up and let her settle last! then at the turn decides to go 10+ wide but is held in a pocket by the winner who is on her outside and has momentum. By the time she is clear the race is over and she flashes home for third. Is getting to be a frustrating horse, always around the money but not quite getting to the line first. Persistance and patience - hard words to swallow but we will push on. Looking for a 1200m race somewhere in a couple of weeks assuming she pulls up ok. Any jockey who can steer is welcome to apply!

I see your frustration. I love backing PRE horses but after seeing you wernt fully confident I pounced on the 1.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Right-o gentleman ....

After careful consideration of the form (and no help from my wife who just lobbed off the number of a horse, who, after checking the form, goes a little bit and confused me no end 'cause if it comes home she'll say "i told you so" until the cows come home :duh :pullhair :doh :brickwall so I'm gonna put some of my own folding on it :hihi), I've come up with a couple that may bring up a top-of-the-table clash with AZA.

Lets have a go at:
RACE 5 NUMBER 2 Diggersanddealers $5 for the win - a bit of value here, had a look at it last week but bonindi was better, and:
RACE 8 NUMBER 2 Philda $5 for the win - for coverage, just looks too classy for this field and is gonna be real hard to beat.

Come on bernie ...... ante up bloke :stir

PRE Punters Club

Winners elusive as Champ & Challenger bow out!

BIGNIGE and Bernie both felt the sting of the unpredictability of winter racing with their selections being beaten by what appeared on paper by horses with inferior form.

So sorry RT as you put in the effort for this & I love having a crack. Hopefully im not blacklisted & will get a show at adding to my tally in spring.
