Welcome to the Punters Club lavy. Sounds like you certainly did your bit by tipping Code Word. Good work Remote. I don't quite understand what you did but it sounds good. Great team work by all of us. I'm a bit lucky cos I wouldn't have backed my horse if I realised it was favourite. They put a bit of money on it since I saw the odds in Friday's form guide.

Yikes...my husband just told me the other horse I was originally going to pick won and paid $9.50. Nash's first ride in Sydney.

Rosy does it again - Eastlavy chips in with a 3rd to kick along the all-up bet. A great team effort. Code Word was last at the turn and a mile back - had he been a tad closer in the running he would've got the chocolates - by gee he came home hard.

PRE Punters Club

Rosy goes on a Conquering Journey

Conquering Journey gave the PRE Punters Club something to cheer about when he greeted the judge first winning PRE $11.60 in the process.

Eastlavy smartly slipped Code Word into the equation which ran a fast finishing third – unfortunately Eastlavy had his bet all on the nose but The PRE Punters Club picked up a cool $54.67 through an all up place betting ticket.

Well done guys – Rosy you go onto to defend your championship whilst Eastlavy you will get another go or 2 later in the footy season

This Saturday 26 June 2010 the champion and challenger are -

Champion = Rosy23
Challenger = Streak

Rosy23 & Streak – could you please post or PM me to show that you are ok to be the punters this weekend?

The rules are simple -

1) Each punting day (usually Saturday) there is a challenger and a champion
2) Both the challenger and the champion have $10 to bet - either win or place or eachway and/or allup.

E.G. Either –
$10 win horse A, or
$10 place horse A, or
$5 win horse A and $5 win horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 place horse A and $5 place horse B, or
$5 eachway horse A, or
For those who wish to dare it is OK to have
$5 win horse A allup a win horse B, and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B, or
$5 win horse A and $5 place horse A allup a place horse B

3) If you collect more than the $10 outlay and more than your opponent on the day you become the champion next week.

4) Selections can be at any Saturday metropolitan meeting in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. (On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punter(s) in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). Please post your selections on the thoroughbred thread by 11.00am on the day of the races so it gives me time to find them and put them on.

5) All profits on your bet (no matter how small) will be posted to Rosy's bank account to help with the admin costs of PRE

6) All bets are put on Remote Tigers Darwin Bookie IASbet.com hence there is no outlay by other members of the Punting Club.

7) A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of the year, 2010.

A bit tricky at Flemington today. I can't decide between a few horses so I'll head north. Toss up between Nash's 2 rides at Eagle farm but I'll place my faith in Gay not going up there for nothing...not to mention the yellow and black colours.

Yikes I just read Nash's comments in the paper. He doesn't sound overly confident with the wide barrier and the 1400 in race 7. I've got faith in him though to ride the double with Heirachy saluting as well.

Good luck with your bet Streaker. Sounds slightly more technical than the eenie meanie minie mo did to choose which one of Nash's rides to tip. :help

Looks can be deceiving Rosy :rofl

Race 7 will be interesting. Beaded is a good horse, but has a new jockey on board, Larry Cassidy. Who knows what he might do?

Not a good tip rosy. ::) Wouldn't have done much better if I stayed at Flemington. I gave a lot of thought to The Handsome One which won, but a couple of Brad's I looked at, but didn't trust the 2yos, did no good. My only other one was Light Vision in the next.

Yep, Gold water was never in it.....Had Handsome One had the yellow and black colours you would have thought of Cogs straight away and backed him outright. :hihi

The champ and the Challenger both missed on gaining a collect – not to worry there will another turn in the chair for both before the Spring Carnival comes to an end

This Saturday 3 July 2010 the champion and challenger are -

Champion = Tannerztigers
Challenger = Tigergollywog

Tannerztigers & Tigergollywog – could you please post or PM me to show that you are ok to be the punters this weekend?

Rosy – PRE Punters Club won $7.98 on the all up place bets last Saturday – I will add this to this weekend’s collect and remit it to the admin account early next week.
