Secret was to back my man. Onya Bradley. :clap

..... told my brother Viewed was carrying too much weight. :-[

Rule of thumb is to take off 2kg to allow for the Rawiller factor and another couple for the Bart factor...and factor in a pretty handy horse into the bargain.

Great work Bart and Brad. Bring on the big one.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

What a day, nothing like spending the day at the races and rarely seeing a race live. ;D

Also spending days in corporate tents just makes me think my days in the public are over. Once you go, you can never go back.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Helps when you don't have to go around another runner, but Viewed can certainly stay. Would be one of Bart's greatest performances to back up under 58kg+ and win at Flemington.

PRE Punters Club

So Anyway stormed home after havig a checkered run in the straight to go down by a short margin - stiff or bad ride who knows - bad luck RST.

jb03 got us on the right leg with Shamoline Warrior - a juicy $3.50 Top Fluctuation gave us a collect of $35......This puts a previous reigning champion in jb03 within striking range of our tearaway leader Blood_17 for the ultimate prize of PRE Punter of the Year 2009.

We need a new challenger

Champion in the red corner - jb03
Challenger in the blue corner - Tiger44

Rosy I have remitted $28.70 the total of 3 weeks ago's winnings $3.70 and last Saturday's winnings $25 to you .....RT

PRE PUNTER OF THE YEAR 2009

The 2009 rules are -

1) Each Saturday we will have two (2) tipsters - one will be considered the champion the other the challenger.

2) Both the Champion and the Challenger will have $10 each to bet with and are allowed only 1 or 2 horses each Saturday to bet on eg. $10 Win on a horse or $10 Place on a horse or $5 win on 2 horses or $5 place on 2 horses or $5 x $5 on 1 horse;

3) Should your total collect be more than the total collect of your tipster opponent on the day you become the champion and you will be challenged the following Saturday by the next tipster on the list. Should both the Champion and the Challenger not gain a collect the next 2 tipsters on the list will become the champion and challenger for the following Saturday. (with the tipster who is the next in order becoming the champion and the challenger being the tipster next after him/her)

4) Selections can be at any Saturday metropolitan meeting in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. (On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punters in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). Please post your selections on this thread by 11.00am on the day of the races so it gives me time to find them and put them on.

5) All profits on your $10 bet (no matter how small) will be posted to Rosy's bank account to help with the admin costs of PRE

6) All bets are put on Remote Tigers Darwin Bookie IASbet.com hence there is no outlay by other members of the Punting Club.

7) A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of the year, 2009.

The order of betting for 2009 is -

1. Blood17 - return $101.30 - Club House Leader
2. mk33 - return 0
3. Red Sea Tiger - return $65.30
4. jb03 - return $71.70 - Champion
5. Tiger44 - Return $47.90 - Challenger
6. Scottyturnerscurse - return 0
7. the claw - return 0
8. Hartbalm - return 0
9. Leysy Days - return $19.50
10. jimbler - return 0
11. Rosy - return $49.57
12. Dyer'ere - $10.70
13. Remote Tiger - return $52.40

Due to two tipsters betting each weekend (Champion and Challenger) we all should get more than two turns at tipping during the winter footy season and spring racing carnival.

IASbet.com provides for - a Superprice dividend guaranteed to be better than 2 of the three TABs and is generally better than all three or a fixed price or in some races Top Fluctuations. When you put your tips on PRE please advise which of the 3 betting types above you want (Superprice or Fixed Price or Top Fluctuation) Please note if betting for a place Superprice is the only option available. IT MAYBE THE DIFFERENCE IN YOU BECOMING NEXT WEEKS CHAMPION.

Thanks heaps for that Remote.  As always your generosity in running the tipping comp, and contribution towards PRE's running costs, is greatly appreciated.

Good luck to our PRE tipsters this week and to all others having a flutter too.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

My bet for the Punters Comp for tomorrow is $5 each way Race 4 Number 9 Lucky Thunder. Top fluctuation and SuperPrice the place would be great thanks RT.

Good punting tomorrow to all

The others I considered for my bet were

Ista Kareem in Race 7 (loves the Valley)
Whobegotyou in the Cox Plate (ditto)

and a roughie with a chance in Race 2, Angelic Heart.

Go Tigers

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

The old warrior Baughurst kept the followers account ticking over last week.

Keen on a couple today.

Raffaello in the Crystal Mile.

& Unfortunately after the previous post Hissing Sid in the MV Cup.

As for the PLate, tough race to lineup. Going to spec Road to Rock at any old price. Zipping also could run a race, especially if he settles closer as Lloyd Williams has initimated.

Good luck all.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Bad luck tipsters.

Glad the big pussy won today and how great is that absolute legend of racing Bart? An absolute freak of the sport. Funny he was interviewed and he said you can't buy experience but he's had a bit of it now and it's starting to pay off. :hihi

Geez KOD, what a success rate, 0 from 3! Baked beans again for you and the followers?

I would have thought him putting his backings on the open unlike some took a bit of courage.

Knowing the Leys like I do, he wins more than he loses....

That's how he and the darl can live the extravagant lifestyle they do. ;D

For me, had the Cat and what a run that was, just brilliant. What a brilliant looking horse it is too. A real cult figure of the turf. Super Horse.

Took Bart again in the Cox so reaped off that. Never leave out Bart. ;) What a ride it was as well, boy were we treated today.

Other than that had some near misses, was especially off my seat in the run of Spacecraft although was beaten by the super run of Hanks, and was going to take Bowman but rubbed out that selection in Sportsman......what an idiot mistake that was.

You live and you learn.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Tipped 5 out of the first 8 winners on the day, including The Sportmen! But to bring me back down to earth, didn't have a punt and first race day this spring I havent.

Stalking? (so anyone that responds to another posters message is a stalker?). Geez that's a bit harsh Leysy, what's wrong matey, bad day at the track?

I was just having a larf .....no harm done.

Don't know how long you've been following this thread Bob but Leysy regularly blows his trumpet and advises us if we follow his tips he'll lead us to the promi$ed land (or words to that effect). Haven't seen too much evidence to support that on this forum. If you put yourself on a pedestal someone will always remind you when you fall. I'm sure it's all in good fun from both sides though. I certainly hope so.

Confuscious says we could all be millionaires if we could read Sunday's paper before putting our bets Saturday's races.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Apologies to all concerned re my abysmal punting yesterday - couldn't pick my nose!

Stale bread and water in the 44 household this week.
