Anyone know anything about the racing patterns from these internationals (I include Daffodil and Harris Tweed in that) ?

Apparently Kirklees goes forward.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Really warming to Kirklees. Has been set for this all year, unlike many other Europeans who come here at the end of a prep.

On his racing pattern ''He has loads of speed and that's his forte. Ideally he'll race fourth or fifth on Saturday before he makes his run off the corner.''

Yes Cest le Guerre will be a big chance if the sting is out of the track. He grows a leg when it does. An issue might be if Williams wants a penalty or not. Though he has declared in the media he's not worried by one if it comes.

On Cima de Triomphe, he'll get a bit further back. Has been racing in some el primo races. Been getting beat a bit in them though. cannot underestimate Luca Cumani & his team. & leysy certainly doesn't estimate Francesca. Is there a hotter chick on this planet. She's gotta be the highlight of every spring for leysy.

Good call on Shocking as well Gyps. Unlikely to get a run, if he does will be including him & Allez Wonder in multiples. She's a better chance than many others at similar odds in the race ILO.

She will be part of Channel 7 telecast Leysy, maybe worth watching at home rather than the tab.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I was just watching the Thursday night wrap on TVN... Francesca featured more than once... just stunning and I'm glad to see some images here... excellent work, Brian.

There's too much spruiking of those bloody poms going on here!!!! I concede that Cumani does appear to be a good judge but these blokes are highly credentialed maggots more often than not. If there were some highly credentialed Japanese horses over here they would be interesting runners. I know it's not the strongest CC field, and I know we'll hear things like All the Good is a second rater over there so that means that these guys should sh!t in... but Septimus was suppose to be unbeatable in the MC last year but the poor bloke was sadly outclassed.

I've noticed that Nick Williams is spruiking C'est Le Guerre... but I'm worried that might be some feeble attempt at a smokescreen for hooking him... Lloyd has gone on the record several times saying the races he covets most of all are the Cox Plate and the Melbourne Cup. I'm very suspicious of his placement here.

PRE Punters Club

Strewth I'm late this week - advising whose turn it is - both our tipsters last week's selections are still running (That always reminds me of my late dad when I'd ask him how'd ya go today and he said like the 1948 Melbourne Cup - I backed After Dark and that's when it finshed.......)

We need a new champion and a new challenger

Champion in the red corner - Red Sea Tiger
Challenger in the blue corner - jb03

This week it is the bonnie mare who is holding her age and form particularly well up against the old draught horse........

Rosy I will add 2 weeks ago's winnings of $3.70 to our winnings on this coming Saturday and remit the total to you early next week.....RT

PRE PUNTER OF THE YEAR 2009

The 2009 rules are -

1) Each Saturday we will have two (2) tipsters - one will be considered the champion the other the challenger.

2) Both the Champion and the Challenger will have $10 each to bet with and are allowed only 1 or 2 horses each Saturday to bet on eg. $10 Win on a horse or $10 Place on a horse or $5 win on 2 horses or $5 place on 2 horses or $5 x $5 on 1 horse;

3) Should your total collect be more than the total collect of your tipster opponent on the day you become the champion and you will be challenged the following Saturday by the next tipster on the list. Should both the Champion and the Challenger not gain a collect the next 2 tipsters on the list will become the champion and challenger for the following Saturday. (with the tipster who is the next in order becoming the champion and the challenger being the tipster next after him/her)

4) Selections can be at any Saturday metropolitan meeting in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. (On weekends where there are Group races on the Monday or Sunday as well as or instead of the Saturday racing the PRE Punters in the chair can forgo the Saturday racing and bet on the Monday or Sunday). Please post your selections on this thread by 11.00am on the day of the races so it gives me time to find them and put them on.

5) All profits on your $10 bet (no matter how small) will be posted to Rosy's bank account to help with the admin costs of PRE

6) All bets are put on Remote Tigers Darwin Bookie IASbet.com hence there is no outlay by other members of the Punting Club.

7) A total of collects for each member will be maintained by Remote Tiger and the member with the largest total of collects by the last day of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival will be announced the PRE Punter of the year, 2009.

The order of betting for 2009 is -

1. Blood17 - return $101.30 - Club House Leader
2. mk33 - return 0
3. Red Sea Tiger - return $65.30 - Champion
4. jb03 - return $36.70 - Challenger
5. Tiger44 - Return $47.90
6. Scottyturnerscurse - return 0
7. the claw - return 0
8. Hartbalm - return 0
9. Leysy Days - return $19.50
10. jimbler - return 0
11. Rosy - return $49.57
12. Dyer'ere - $10.70
13. Remote Tiger - return $52.40

Due to two tipsters betting each weekend (Champion and Challenger) we all should get more than two turns at tipping during the winter footy season and spring racing carnival.

IASbet.com provides for - a Superprice dividend guaranteed to be better than 2 of the three TABs and is generally better than all three or a fixed price or in some races Top Fluctuations. When you put your tips on PRE please advise which of the 3 betting types above you want (Superprice or Fixed Price or Top Fluctuation) Please note if betting for a place Superprice is the only option available. IT MAYBE THE DIFFERENCE IN YOU BECOMING NEXT WEEKS CHAMPION.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Let's see if we can catch the Clubhouse Leader.

* $10 win Caulfield race 1 Horse 2 So Anyway Top Fluctuation

If she is scratched let's stay with the stable and have the same bet on Caulfield Race 4 Horse 3 Gathering.

Happy Punting all .........................

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Okay here's my good oil, my form has been bordering on average, although had some winnings mid week so maybe it is turning around.

I'll be out at Caulfield most of the day, so here we go punters;

Caulfield Race 1

No. 2 - So Anyway - He has one of my favorite jockeys on his back and looks too classy in this race.

Caulfield Race 2

No. 1 - Kidnapped - Very cultured horse that looks primed for this race.

Caulfield Race 4

No 1 - Onemorenomore - Easily the most classy thing in this race, if Bossy can ride him steady he will win.

Caulfield Race 6

No. 8 - Emblem of Liberty - Gonna take a bit of a gamble here. I really think Hot Danish is a shoe in, but this horse's form has been great in South Africa and Lee Freedman don't have many donkey's. If he has settled like I think he has he looks a class act. Maybe each way here.

Caulfield Race 9

No. 6 - Eagle Falls - Classy horse, Damien Oliver on his back, good form.

Caulfield Race 10

No. 7 - Seeking Attention - Again my man Bowman on board, I think an outside barrier may be the go in the last as the inside may be cut up rough, so the pace may be on the outside at 5:30pm.

The Big One - Caulfield Race 8

No. 7 - Roman Emperor - Also again with my man Bowman on board, and the Master Cummings will have his stable primed and my gut instincts have this one out of the three as the best bet. The other two will get all the attention but this guy is known to be one of Bart's favorites. Also shamekha seems to like it. :hihi

Happy punting folks. :)

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Caulfield Cup - I seem to only catch the winner when its a mare - e.g. How Now

When I do the weights on this race I just seem to miss the improver - did the weights this year and came up with

Equal first Red Ruler and Daffodil
Close third Master O'Reilly
Close fourth Preditatory Pricer
1.5 lengths to 5th Shocking

Do not back these unless you fancy them for my track record in the Caulfield Cup is poor - Melbourne Cup I do OK but the Cup at the Heath usually sees me not lining up for a collect.......RT

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Good luck everyone. If I get a paper to check the fields before I go out I'll add my tips for the day too.

Is anyone interested in a fun comp, maybe Melbourne Cup day, when we each have a cyber amount, maybe $100, and see who turns it into the biggest loss or profit? If anyone is interested we could work on the rules, ie bet in every race or just use it anyway we see fit.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

No winners last week, so hopefully some this week

r1 n2 So Anyway
r2 n4 Weasley
r3 n5 Valdemoro
r4 n5 Tribunal
r5 n1 Orane County
r6 n3 Typhoon Tracey & Hot Danish both favourites of mine and in race so back them in exactas and first out in trifecta
r9 n9 Phelan Ready
r10 n3 Jalippy

In Cup will stay with n9 Predatory Pricer
has won at course (though 1400 beating Whobegotyou) won on dead track, placed at distance, well weighted thru WFA form against Whobegotyou and came 2nd to Efficient at Turnbull.

1 Predatory Pricer
2 Kirklees
3 Cima De Triomphe
Master O'reilly and Light Vision as value, put them in for first two legs of trifecta and add some maybe for 3rd leg and try get 50% + for them.

Good luck today punters

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Punters club bet Caulfield Race 4 No. 2 Shamoline Warrior for the win thanks RT.

Daffodil looks overs in the Caulf Cup.
First Command also hard to beat.

Yep very close, story of my day.

Had a good run, Bowman rode him very well as you would expect, he is a brilliant rider. Had a very good day.

So had two winners and three second places and a couple of fourths. That's how it rolls some days. Seeking Attention was my bet of the day, told mates about that horse on Friday and none jumped on, I did and got on him at the fixed odds of $12.80. Had a $20 on him each way so quite happy with that result. My mates are bleeding. :hihi

My brother had Viewed and told me to get on, as I said I thought Roman Emperor was the one that Bart had in perfect condition, told my brother Viewed was carrying too much weight. :-[

Well done to Bart Cummings, truly a special person in racing, a living legend and glad I am around while he is doing his best. Spring time's number one rule, don't disregard the Cummings horse. So whats that, 11 Melbourne Cups and 7 Caulfield Cups? WOW.
