Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Roll call of 'best horse in Europe/ the world' that will beat the aussie horses by 10 lenghts for sure in the cup, but flop:

Drum Taps
Double trigger
Oscar Schindler
Septimus

Thats all I can think of for now.

Hyped Foreign Horses who have performed, may not have won but have performed: Pop Rock, Vinnie Roe, Vintage Crop

Unhyped foreign Horses who have performed: Media Puzzle, Central Park, Delta blues, Mahler

First year for a while I haven't run a drum. Viewed???? Bart is the master of pumping up odds. Good read Dyer 'ere. Touch hyperbolic re. chins ride, bit early yeah, but not ridiculous.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Please remove that avator MK, its making me feel crook.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Terrible news about Sunburnt Land.

Should run in the lightning stakes. Very sad though in all honesty. Hope it was painless.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Gee that sucks.

One of leysy favs who did he did very well off this spring.

Could easily have developed into our best sprinter. Amazingly rotten luck that.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I haven't heard from Scottyturnerscurse - if any of you have his mobile number please call or sms him to let him know he is in the chair for the PRE Punter's Club.

Thanks RT

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Thanks RT shall post the prognostications in the morning after scratchings.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Have checked the scratchings - pretty wet out in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne!

I would love to have $20 win on Martini Red at Pukekohe races (NZ). She is the first foal of a mare I had a small share of when she raced in the early 2000's - Pernod. Won a Group 1 at Caulfield (22 Sept 2002). Race 9 Number 3 and should just about win.

Anyway I checked the conditions and fair enough, restricted to Melb, Syd, Bris and Adel.

So I would like $20 win on Melbourne Race 3 Number 2 Flying Ruby please RT. Hopefully around the $2 mark.

Thanks again RT for your generosity. Good luck to all having a punt today. :clap

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

I'll go for $20 win on Geyser Peak, Moonee Valley Race 7 Number 6, drawn a bit wide but that should help the price!

Good Draft Day punting to all!

Go Tigers.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

PRE Punters Club bet is on -

May the Geyser blow his rivals away..................RT

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Unfortunately his rivals blew him away, sincere apologies to all concerned. No excuses but not that impressed with G Boss and why he went to the lead but that's racing.

Re: Thoroughbred Horse Racing [Merged]

Bad luck T44.

Anyone have any idea if Bauer will be stripped of his cup placing or not?

From the mailman

The Mail on Bauer's "Secret Treatment"

It's amazing what you pick up when you drink at the right places.

For example, I overheard a very interesting story at one esteemed establishment late one evening.

I didn't realise that Racing Victoria pays all the expenses incurred by visiting trainers (vets, transport etc) and RVL then bills the trainers. It's a great system for the locals - it's a bit hard to chase your debts across hemispheres.

A couple of weeks ago, an eagle eyed young up and comer at Racing Victoria noticed that one of the vets bills submitted for payment included a charge for electro wave therapy.

This treatment was administered to Bauer. It was done so at the request of the trainer.

It's not illegal for a trainer (or vet) to use electro shock wave therapy but under the Rules of Racing (AR64H), any horse treated with this treatment is ineligible to race for seven days afterwards.

Bails (or one of his coffee makers) has apparently asked the vet who allegedly administered the treatment to come in to their offices for a chat. Rumour has it he has told them that he is a bit busy with appointments at the moment but will get back to them when he is free.

Good to see that "Integrity Services" continues to be held in such high esteem by the industry.

The key piece of info he will deliver to them is as to whether the date on the invoice is the actual date that he administered the treatment or simply the date he invoiced it.

Apparently, Bails and Browny found out about this a few weeks back but have sat on it, while they try to work out what they will do about it. They have also been a bit busy trying to fill all the gaps left by the recent departures and trying to work out who else has been going to interviews

Also, they have been spending a bit of time working on their new "home" (see below).

The irony of the stewards telling connections not to release details of the treatment to the media, and then their own department leaks the information, should not be lost on anybody.
