The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

one of the journos on triple m said that Hardwick and Hinkley both making their last presentations to the board today and the board will make their decision later today. Announcement to be made Wednesday (they want to do it after KP father's funeral). He did say though that he could be wrong as expected so could be bs

I think thats spot on. Tony Free was just on the TAC program saying that they should have an announcement ready for the middle of this coming week.

I'm sure Hardwick got a good view last night of what's to come.

That's a good thing. If Hardwick get's it we're nearly ensured of a full cleanout. :clap

If last season was Wallace's last with us finishing off with meaningless wins, it would've stooged the new coach in someway and left him with a thought that we're good enough for the finals now so let's just patch up the list.

I think we all can be a bit harsh on KB, I for one use to bag the crap out of him, but fact is he is part of the media now and has too have a opinion on things, other fact is he has more right then any of us to comment on the RFC
Not just a matter of K.B. having opinions CC. He's been hammering the *smile* out of his personal agendas re Sheedy, Malthouse, Figgy and Balmey as the saviours of Richmond and blatantly insinuating that the Board are idiots for not just waving the magic wand and appointing any or all of the aforementioned as soon as he suggests they will save us.

Good point! I was thinking about what Hardwick may have been thinking when the likes of Simmonds were missing targets 20 meters away etc etc......clean out coming up!!

I personally cant see them making a decision today and then not making an annoucement until mid week. Thats when the leak will occur. Not from the RFC but from the unsuccesful candidate. Unless of course the candidates wont know about the decision until mid week.

Personally I think Jades down a great job:

1. He's showed where the list is really at. No late season consolation wins by playing senior players to cover the cracks;
2. Provided opportunity to a number of kids who will no doubt be given some thought come years end, (keep/delist)
3. Exposed the deficiencies of the list;
4. Showed that the recruiting staff still have a bit of work to do;
5. Exposed Wallace crack filler, obviously not selleys.

At least the new coach will be able to come in with a pretty clear idea of where the list is at and who may make it and who won't. Our list management team should also have a clearer picture as kids have been given opportunity to show if they are worth developing.

Some of our players will be under a lot of scutinee at season end, and I would suggest a few will lose their spot. Too many players failed to stand up or show leadership when the opportunity presented.

No more dillusional finishes to the year with a car salesman preaching finals next year.

Thanks Jade, you have made even the most optimistic of us understand just how far away we are from being a threat to anybody.

Hinkley for mine but if we go down the Hardwick road, wouldnt worry me too much. It's been a good process taken by the tigers so far. So we can only have faith in the process and there have been many capable people involved in this excercise so far.

With doubt about Rawlings continuing at Tigerland, it actually creates an opportunity.

Andy Collins will now have completed his contract at West Adelaide. I'd be bringing him back in a full-time role to look after Coburg & be the RFC's defensive coach.

Would provide a nice blend of experience amongst some young coaches.

Was reported early on that Hardwick wanted to clean out all the over 30s at the RFC. If he gets the gig hope he does minus Cuz!

And if Jade goes that should be 4 assistants to be replaced (King, Royal, Jade, McRea) as well as the new assistants position.

So at least 2 assistants will be Campbell & Johnson as a development coach I heard Kouta was looking to dip his toe in the coaching water he may be an option also maybe a Michael Wilson Hardwick premiership team mate?

Campbell and Johnson should both be sent packing.

Gee I don't know what Johnson will bring to the table.

Campbell will be retained you would think so hopefully 5 vacancies to fill plus the senior position.
