Didn't see the game but didn't sound like we were that bad add Cotchin Foley Collins Richardson to the side Thursfield & Newman both got injured early in the game with Jackson & Edwards injured late 87 tackles!! Have we ever had 87 tackles Deledio 36 disposals 7 tackles 14 contested possesions 2 goals fair game a fit Cotchin & Collins along side Deledio Cousins & Tambling along with Foley & Richo next season a little bit of promise their?

What did he say?

Basically hinted to the fact he wants to further his career and the new coach might find it hard to work with him, bla bla.

hmm richo will be 35 very short term category, . foley has disposal issues but gives in other areas a core player nothing more. collins looks promising maybe a good core group player. cotchin looks a player if he can get over injuriies. still in develoment mode. thursfield is deficient but a sound defender nothing more than core list player. newman core list. jackson have no hesitation in labelling him below standard. edwards again at best will become a core list player. size and kicking are major concerns. deledio was the other one you mentioned the only player currently on the list who is long term very good to elite.

It'll be interesting to see if we can get some unknown skilled players from Hawthorn or Geelong depending on if Hardwick or Hinkley get the job.

Hardwick tipped for Richmond job - Real Footy
Cameron Noakes | August 23, 2009

RICHMOND Football Club is expected to offer Hawthorn assistant Damien Hardwick its senior coaching job this week, according to former club great and radio host Kevin Bartlett.

Hardwick is now the bookies' favourite to be offered the position, despite rumours last week that Geelong assistant Ken Hinkley was in the box seat. Hinkley was backed into favouritism with bookmaker Sportingbet Australia, but Richmond officials were apparently bemused by the speculation and unsure why or what punters had heard to presume Hinkley would secure the job.

Bartlett said yesterday he understood Hardwick was currently the favourite to take the reins at Tigerland in 2010.

"I understand it is a photo finish … and Damien Hardwick's head has just bobbed up into the frame," Bartlett said.

He said there were rumours that the Richmond committee had already voted and Hardwick was the unanimous choice, but "it is not as clearcut as that". "It's a bob of the head and Hardwick is in the picture," he said.

Betstar's Alan Eskander, who has been running a market on the position, said he understood the successful candidate would be revealed tomorrow, however Richmond president Gary March said that was not likely and would not indicate when the decision would be announced.

The Betstar market was taken down over the weekend, but prior to that Hardwick was at $2.55 and the "any other person option" [Hinkley is in this market] was at $1.70.

"We took the market down because we were worried some people might already know the result," Eskander said.

Meanwhile, North Melbourne president James Brayshaw denied suggestions Hardwick was not given a fair hearing when he was interviewed for his club's senior coaching position.

Brayshaw confirmed that he did not meet with Hardwick, but said he had never intended to and it was the job of the selection panel to conduct the interview.

"The fact that I didn't meet with him is totally and utterly irrelevant," Brayshaw said.

The Sunday Age understands that Hardwick - who was overlooked for the job - was not entirely happy with the interview, which went for only an hour.

It is believed Hardwick was surprised that the process was not more in-depth and that the selection panel did not ask him to present a game plan.

Brayshaw, speaking on Triple M, said he was not privy to what was discussed at the interview, but believed the panel considered Hardwick "an extraordinarily good" candidate.

"I don't know how long the interview went for, [but] it was definitely more than an hour," Brayshaw said.

"I understand [the interview] was comprehensive [and] I understand Hardwick's presentation was extraordinarily good.

"I don't know how his personality came across [during the interview because] … I was not privy to it. But Brad Scott was by far and away the best fit for our club at the moment."

Since then, Hardwick has spoken to Port Adelaide about an assistant coaching position that is expected to lead to a senior coaching role when current coach Mark Williams' contact expires at the end of 2011.

March congratulated caretaker coach Jade Rawlings at last night's pre-match function, saying he had made an outstanding presentation to the selection committee.

''It was a really hard decision to say to Jade he wasn't successful, but I've got no doubt Jade Rawlings, at age 31, will be a senior coach of AFL football.''

Not really relevant but Rawlings confirmed he is all but outta Punt Road in 2010 in his post-match interview.

So much for wanting to stick with this group of players.

Turn it up Brayshaw, the truth hurts. The duirect evidence is it wasn't comprehensive.

I hope KB is wrong.

KB doesn't have a clue. Nobody does, that's the amazing thing about this appointment.

This article quoting KB say's Hardwick, and the other article from hutchy say's differ!

Looking forward to the announcement.

*smile* K.B.!
Ever since he stuck his nose back in the door after hiding in his closet for half a lifetime. He has been opening his bucket mouth and trying to run the clubs administration from the sanctity of a radio microphone.
If he wants to run the place put the hand up, take FULL responsibility for all the decisions and actions of the club.
If he hasn't got the agates to stand up and take the heat of the kitchen then discuss and opinionate from the safety of the microphone AFTER the decision has been announced rather than trying to set agendas or manipulate outcomes via hysterical personnal outcries.

Rawlings should replay his initial comments when appointed caretaker. He was under no illusion that it was CARETAKER and nothing else. Funny how he now feels he deserved the job. He has shown beyond doubt that he is miles off becoming a senior AFL coach in the few months he has been incharge. I don't care how much passion one has for the job, if you don't cut it, you don't cut it. I'm sick of watching the crap on display by a bunch of substandard hacks. As far as I'm concerned, there's no time for sympathies or warm and fuzzy feelings. If you're not up to standard pack your bags and bugger off! Coaches and players alike.

All he's said is it's down to a 'photo finish'.
Well der kb, I can read the papers too.

He's just pushing his agendas again.

Surprised he didn't mention Sheeds as a late finisher. :p

I think we all can be a bit harsh on KB, I for one use to bag the crap out of him, but fact is he is part of the media now and has too have a opinion on things, other fact is he has more right then any of us to comment on the RFC

Yep, been thinking exactly the same thing Ian, really depends if the tanking Dees take young Butcher, as Freo will take Morabito if they have the pick ahead of us

Why?

Just because he is a past player? Or because he was a great player? Or because he work's for the media? Or because he has bled and shed tear's as much as us over our recent pathetic history?

I hope Hardwick isnt relying on his Powerpoint presentation to get him over the line as he did with the Bummers. ;)
