Agree. It also frees up Rawlings to do what he thinks is right for the team today without him having an eye on a potential senior gig next year.

I can't help but think that when Jade through his hat into the ring publicly, our onfield performance dropped.
I think in time he's shown he may be a very good coach but he's nowhwere near ready yet.

hey i'm just wondering... if hinkley gets the job we all know hardwick will either stay at hawthorn or move to alberton. but if hardwick gets the job, could we offer the job as senior assistant to oath? whats his contract situation at geelong? i mean we are in the market a senior assistant aren't we? or would we give this job to either jade or campbo?

Jade will not be at the Tigers next year if his manager can get him a job elsewhere he will move on.

Would that create an unnecessary pressure on Hardwick having the guy who was a close second to his job working as his 2ic?

whats wrong with pressure? the richmond gig is always a high pressure job anyway. and with oath doing very well in the process, i'm sure he would be invaluabe asset. plus his intellectual property could be a gold mine for a struggling club like richmond.

Agree,Hinkley will stay at Geelong

this goes back to my query on his contract situation. if he's out of contract why not throw buckets of money at him? from the outside it looks like leigh tudor has been great for st kilda

whoe ever gets the job his successor should already be being looked at weather as an assistant in our system or elsewhere. long term planning people.

Seriously,
I hope The Captain (and all players for that matter) embrace the Coach otherwise you can roll up
"The Process" and set fire to it.
If the players are not behind the new Coach we are stuffed!
Sorry, I don't agree at all. Its not the players role to choose whether they will or will not get "in behind" the new coach - they are paid and paid well to get in behind him.
To quote Basil Fawlty "Right, lets find the rat. I'll deal with the sackings later!"
That's the one huge benefit of an administration sacking the coach and appointing a succesor. For the players there is no-one else they can blame or whose "performance" they can, even in part, hide behind. The spotlight regarding Richmond's diabolical performances moves now from the coaching staff squarely onto each and every player.

Pffftt. See ya later Jade. No great loss.

Rawlings was told last night that he won't get the job.

I wonder what Hardwick thought tonight. He'll probably give Hinkley a call and say "Good luck with the job". ;D

or if Hardwick has any balls at all hed be saying "Give me a shot at a senior coaching gig and I'll show you what I can do"
