Sounds like he's getting a bit bitter. North's process and our list are the reasons he didn't want those jobs.

Essendon, Melbourne, North and Richmond have all seen something they didn't like and I think he's starting to make excuses.

He may have asked Ricky Nixon to be his manager.
Ricky may have said "you won't be needing me". (no Richmond job)

Why would he think we're after a coach? If that's the case, why sit through the interviews?
It's not as if these prospective coaches didn't know our list!! It didn't just go downhill overnight.

Further to this Jade's manager Liam Pickering responded to a question on SEN this arvo.

Whether Jade will stay at Richmond now he hasn't got the job. Pickering didn't dispute that Jade missed out and said he'll sit down with Jade and discuss what he wants to do. Pickering said it'll depend on the new coach. Rawlings loves the club and probably wouldn't have a problem being second banana but it may be better for him to move elsewhere. The experience as caretaker will hold him in good stead for the future.

It is now down to Hinkley and Richo, but we all knew that anyway.

No guarantee's but Hardwick's toing and froing from Adelaide and the strong word from their is that Hardwick knows he probably won't get the gig.

I would hope not. If our process is as rock solid as we believe, Hardwick being offered a job would make no difference to our selection criteria.

If it did make a difference, I hope the fact he's only been offered an assistant role would play more into the decision than just a job offer.

IMHO he's got options and he's making sure they stay on the table. I'm back to thinking Hardwick is probably the favourite.

He actually said 72 hours which I doubt given March is overseas early in the week, but he also said, for the first time in years, no one has a clue who the new coach of Richmond will be :clap

Maybe he found out who's contracted and who's not.

That's the bit that worries me. Not so much in relation to Hardwick - but that we may have a fight on our hands to keep our key uncontracted players. It's the genie in the bottle (as in BAD genie - not the Barbara Eden kind) for all clubs and a bigger issue than we give credit to.

If jade doesn't get the job I hope he gets a good job here or elsewhere. Richmond has ended too many coach's careers and it would be good for our future recruitment if we can show one person who has gone onto bigger and better things after holding a senior coaching role at Richmond.
