The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

Hmmm think I was one of the first on here to be giving Scott big raps (so i agree with you and rate him also) but this is very risky by North considering how they went about it.

4 clubs have overlooked Hardwick, some going back to lack of experience only a couple and fours years out of the game for him. Scott is two years out of the game. There is no doubt he will be learning on the job his first couple of years more than most.

Scott still highly impresses me, but I really hope he has not got too ambitious and North too desperate. He'll need to be more than a good man though from all reports he is all ready head and shoulders above Wallace, but how hard is that? LMAO.

Methinks this one will end in jubilation or heartache, though that said, what AFL story doesn't? :hihi

PS: If Scott brings his brother to North i will completely go off him. Heard plenty bad about his brother as a coach.

As I said their process was shabby but I will reiterate that my belief and knowing Scotty a little bit, he is a good man for the job.

People are laughing at North the same way they were laughing at Hawthorn.

May end up a similar story.

Saw him with my own eyes. Hutchy standing there shivering, behind him were a group of business types walking out, Benny Gale, some others, Ken Hinkley and Ricky Nixon.

Blokes were Gale, Free, Cameron and two other blokes I don't know.

Who were the others on the sub-committee? I think Emmett Dunne was one. He's a curly haired red head of sorts. Maybe that's who I saw.

I obviously got all carried away.

What we do know is that nothing has changed. 4 candidates to present in stage 2 now complete. the final 2 will present to the board next week and a decision will be made next week. All 4 still in it at this stage.

Other 2 blokes were short so I doubt Constable Plod was one of them.

Keep hearing the comparison about Hawthorn and North and I can't see it. People laughed at Hawthorn for the wrong reason, North deserve it. Which is unfortunate for Scott.

Hawthorn stuck to a thorough process, like we are.

North have panicked, chased urban myths and jumped at shadows.

I make no apologies for laughing at north and been disgusted by their process. I would be ropeable if I was a member, a very ad hoc decision making process indeed.

They are just lucky they got Scott who gives them a chance of not coming out of this with egg on their face, at the rate they were going I thought they were going to end up with Ayres. :hihi

As I keep saying, the process was laughable. A joke.

Still if you want to be made a fool by laughing at another club's decision, by all means :hihi I just think, even though it was a shambles, the choice for them was very good. I am learning my lesson.

We have definitely done the right thing and are made to look more professional, to that there is no doubt, but I will be concentrating on us, rather than get sidetracked with other clubs.

Oh what do I give a stuff, laugh away, it's only North Melbourne. ;D

I don't see how I am being a fool for laughing at the way North made their decision. You are also agreeing with me in even using the words laughable yourself about their process. So you are confusing me mate. ???

Hardwick himself even fired a parting shot in saying it would have been nice to meet Brayshaw during their "process" and Brayshaw even then just shirked in his chair and made a silly little boy's joke.

A lot of people on here are getting a little carried away with comparisons with Hawthorn and North, utterly different thing. One followed a process, one didn't. As I have said ad nauseaum, North are just lucky they got a sharp mind prepared for the modern era as opposed to a Riley, Frawley or Rhode etc.

What is his contract length and for how much per annum?

What were his philosophies on the game and who does he want to keep and get rid of?

Surely if you know it all you fool, this would be information that goes with it.

Let's see how much you do know.

5 years ago people were saying Wallace had a sharp mind and was prepared for the modern era with his fast light footed HBF brigade....

I think you missed his point T74. A wink at the end of any statement makes it 100% correct apparently.

True but I know Scott is very heavily up with the modern IT in AFL now which is a big thing and is tertiary qualified in sports science and doing even further studies in it. Good signs.

The fact North didn't interview him much on his game plan or strategies isn't but, hey, what the hey! ;D
