The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

Can somebody point me to some videos online with Hinkley and Hardwick interviewed or just talking?

I'm embarrassed to say I've never heard them speak or even know what they look like :-X

YouTube came up blank.

After North's announcement today, what is the purpose of taking 10 days to decide our coach?

This process sounds too bureacratic to me.

Self serving? Probably but still correct none the less.
I can see your point how it harms more than it helps in the public arena.
I did have to laugh about Cousins 250th being the reason for Jade's implosion considering he'd played like 12 games for the club. Hardly worthy of giving the club and players such as spray under those circumstances. You can connect the dots that he's angry because the Swans game harmed his aspirations.
Games like the Centenary game last season or even this weekend for a club stalwarts farewell would seem a more appropriate time to air such problems. You're right too though someone with more weight than a caretaker coach in the middle of an application process is probably the one to do it.

Anyways I'd connect much of the 'culture' problems that Jade is mentioning in direct correlation with the Wallet tenure.
The all about me philosophy where I is more important than Team. Terry never placed a heavy emphasis on team based football and was always in the gig for himself. Never accepting responsibility for his own flaws and padding his nest(Tuesdays with Terry) etc.

I think the culture thing is a complicated task that is going to be the new coaches biggest challenge.

I think it goes way beyond Wallace myself but Wallace's regime was a duplication of much of what has come before (Giesch, Frawley, Wallace etc) in as much as a lot of talk without substance.

I think healthy cultures provide things to fall back on in hard times, whereas our cultures have all been words players don't recall (proven fact) and strategies they don't comprehend (proven fact). Mix that in with large dosages of hypocrisy and you have a pretty insidious disease that gobbles up feeble attempts at cultures.

It's a bit like pretending to be tough on the football field, you can make all the sounds, but you eventually get found out and made to look quite silly when challenged.

I believe our off field culture is excellent and certainly the best I have seen in my adult life/memory. The Football Department and even more so the team, develops a culture large implemented and enforced by the Coach so it is crucial we get the right man who can address that this time.

The days are gone for us of getting the scraps of other sides, employing coaches to sell the club and for media reasons, etc.

I'm confident the culture is slowly but assuredly being addressed. It takes time but it's progressively being done. The new Coach is going to be the biggest part of the puzzle when it comes to how our players play and the football department's culture. We don't need a caretaker bleeding out the obvious, the time to take solace in hearing about our poor culture is from the decision makers or the new coach.

Did you hear that?

Mark Doran said that Hardwick was told [by RFC (implied)] that he didn't get the gig, and therefore was in the running for the North job!

???

Edit: Did I hear correctly?

He didn't spell that out, I heard it as North told him he hadn't be ruled out. I think Doran's point was there is a lot misinformation floating about.

Are you kidding? Just cut it and make a decision by Friday this week.

Why?

We've been handed the oppurtunity to do it in our own time now.

If there are still final interviews to be done, and a board decision to be made. We can do it in our own time.

Getting it right, is more important than the announcement.
