The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

You cant believe everything sheehan writes, this may or may not be true.

Regardless, I think richmond should let Damien know that we will fast forward the interviews with the others and the club will be making an appointment by the end of next week.

If Damien cant wait till that time then he shows he only wants north job then fine let him go.

Keep the process, just speed it up !!!

Why speed up the process?
Who says Hardwick is the best candidate?

I think the RFC needs to stick to the RFC original gameplan and not knee-jerk and be perceived as desperados (be the complete opposite of Brayshaws almost embarrasing efforts - he's going to finish this club).

Cool your boots Tigers.

I reckon it probably is true that North will make a quick play for Hardwick. I'd hope he was smart enough to be extremely wary of how they are going about it. If they do get him I hope North do fall flat on their face I'm sick of us always doing the stupid thing and suffering for it while other clubs do similar thing and don't.

process is too slow... yep we don't want another wallace rush job, but FFS, get on with it.
Perhaps teh coaching selection committee can have a meeting about having a meeting to talk about having a meeting on who they might talk to next
This looks like a local council at work... Get on with it... Hardwick or Laidley????

They are getting on with it. It only looks slow because North are rushing their process.

Well if you believe what Caro stated earlier in the week things should be wrapped up by the weekend!

Also reported in the Aus earlier in the week that the club told Laidley if he was interested he would also have to present this week.

Just because we are going through a process doesn't mean we haven't commenced negotiating with any candidates - today's article mentions DH having gone through a second interview; I think we are progressing quicker than we might think?

It wil. I think they will end up with either Hardwick or Scott. North's process is shorter than ours, hell they don't even have one. They could just jump at who they want and offer him all their $$$ like they did with Buckley so they could steal Hardwick away from us. Could be why things are starting to pick up with our search (decision made before end of the month) and rumoured to even be announced within a week or 2.

Right on the money, Barnzy. :D

Nobody gave Clarkson a chance at the Dawks but he got the job
Nobody gave Lyon a chance at the Sinners and he got the job.
What both clubs did was go through a "process" and got their man. Clarkson took the Dawks to a flag and Lyon has the Sinners undefeated at the top of the ladder.
If Hardwick is just after the money that the Roos are prepared to throw at him let him go.
We just need to stick to the process and we will get our coach. ;)

If Hardwick is our preferred option they would be telling him to hang 5 whilst we dot our i's & cross our t's (going through the process with other candidates) having said that we might prefer others.

I hope they do this as well if he is our preferred option.

Looks like Hardwick might have a bit of a decision to make over the next couple of days-Shinboner spirit vs the least successful club in recent history. Probably not the gigs he saw himself having to choose from when he decided he wanted to coach, but life goes that way sometimes.

I wonder if he has fallen in love with Richmond yet?

Massive crowds, big games, your picture on the back-page of the Herald-Sun at least once a week. When the fans love you, they really love you but if they should ever happen to turn on you the internet will light up like the Harbour Bridge on New Year's Eve. Wait'll he sees the fear in his players eyes as they run the gauntlet to get off the field after a big loss. Just ask Danny Frawley or Terry Wallace. This ain't no Country Club.

Its the career-breaker. Its the high-risk ride of the AFL. Its Bungee-jumping. Its the adrenaline rush of footy and that's an adrenaline rush in itself. Its Italian coffee, strong, black and never lets you sleep. Its a night of passion with Elle MacPherson. The coach of Richmond will always know that he is alive.

Shin-boner spirit? Hey, I love osso bucco as much as the next guy and can you find better comfort food than slow-cooked lamb shanks on a Winter's Night? One should never lose sight of the fact that it's still the bony bit on the end of the leg. It can't really compete with a nice, juicy 400gram Porterhouse every night.

Has Damien Hardwick fallen in love with Richmond yet?
