The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

cmon you lot we dont need a development coach we are clearly aiming for the 8 next season and apparently we have the list to do it.list development is done and the players are ready. pick 7 and two other draft picks should be all we need come draft time.

Channeling Miller and Wallace hey Claw?? :hihi

Thank goodness that we now know that Buckley and Malthouse are not contenders for the top job, and the media circus is free to move on to other issues.

Viva la Process!

LMAO at people getting carried away with Rawlings. We've beaten the West Coast Tankers who have zero interest in winning and admittedly a good win against Essenscum.

However, we blew a 7 goal half time lead against the Roos, didn't even score for more than 2 quarters against St.Kilda and lost the other two games. No doubt we are playing better than under Wallbottom (no great achievement in itself) but he's got a hell of a long way to go before he could be considered the next coach of Richmond.

Bartlett, as much as he is a RFC legend, is now a senile old fool.

Agree 100%. The current Rawlings experience brings back memories of the Geish for me.

Lets not get too carried away with Jade at the moment.

buckley
malthouse

after todays events, we know for sure we'll be appointing an young coach. i'm sure that will please most plebs.

Indeed, we might even have the YOUNGEST coach in the league next year.

No, we need another 27 years of tanking to prove that the tank works. Really it does.

Has to be down to Jade the Blade & Hardwick to get the main gig at the minute & I think it's Jade's to lose I do hope if Jade doesn't get the gig that he stays on with Hardwick along with Campbell. Would also like to see Shane Wakeline as the backline coach think he speaks well & was a smart defender but that will be up to the next coach.

A couple of wins, a few decisions and team parameters that most common sense coaches would implement and suddenly Jade is a favourite? No thanks. We need a lot more than that. There are far more experienced and better qualified candidates in my opinion.

How would PRE be if Laidley got the gig?
Just thought I'd mention, that a reliable source who was in the rooms after Norths loss to us earlier in the year, reported that he'd never seen Laidley lose his groove as badly as he did that day. What apparently riled him so much, was losing to us in particular. He said we were the biggest bunch of useless ##### going around, and the laughing stock of the whole competition. He just couldn't believe how #### we were, and they'd lost to us , add in as many combinations of expletives as you could possibly imagine in reference to the tiges and apparently you'd still be scratching the surface needless to say, Claw would have him at the top of the list as he seems to agree with his analysis of the list and everything else on the negative aspects of the club.
At least he'll have a few ideas to present at his interview on how to improve usm maybe the delivery will be different! Maybe the richmond loss was his 'Mitch Morton' moment , and they stamped his papers right there and then. Oh NO! the junkyard dog wants to coach Richmond to exact revenge...............................................

If that is true then that bloke should not even be considered for the job. He would set us back even further.

Personally would have had loved to have got Bucks, we didnt, so be it.. Anyway not a bit concerned who we get as I dont think we will really know for at least 2 years if the new coach is up to it, unless of course we win a flag in 2010 ;D

You only need to look at North to know how far he'd set us back. Pass.

Anyone think that Jade's chances have firmed to be the coach after this process with the events at the Pies?

I think it has come down to Jade, Richardson and Hardwick.

THE COACH

Better be Hardwick. Rawlings is a false dawn.
I DO NOT KNOW I THINK HE IS THE ONE, hope others have a feeling for this, and post they ideas, it is only a feeling that he is the one for us, it could another Loser, like so meny lost opportunitys
that we have had lost , but I do have a strange feeling he good be the MAN.
post ideas?
Yours Furycat.

Re: THE COACH

It is hard to say, Rawlings seems to be able to coach a little.

Not sure on Hardwick.

But the process should surely be the winner out of all of this? ;D

Yes, I think I'd defer to the judgment of the Process rather than the strange feelings of someone on the internet.

Re: THE COACH

I went to training at Punt Rd yesterday and watched Rawlings closely, he stands back and delegates as required, and then gets involved in the ball handling stuff as well.....Cant say I ever saw Wallace kick a ball to a player in that fashion, never saw him do it anyway and I go and watch a lot.

They were all grouped together at the beginning of training, and Jade yelled out to Francis on the boundary line, yep Francis.....he walked out and addressed the players for about 10 minutes...didnt know what he was saying but at the end of the address the players were full of voice and applauded him....

Later they all lined up and had pot shots by foot and hand one at a time from 30 meters to a wheely bin, they were goading each other and really getting into it.....

I'm not saying that he is the answer, but what I am saying is that I've never been to training and seen the comeraderie like this before....normally a lot quieter out there, they were all very very vocal....

He certainly seems to be getting them working more as a TEAM.... :)

Thanks for the update Phil, Wallass sure was a passenger when it came to training and got paid easy money.

Philster , i use to attend many Wallace training session and you are right about the way training sessions were conducted by $ man.

I always use to take note of this and remark to other Tiger supporters of mine how he use to delegate alot and never take sessions hands on as i have seen with other AFL coaches.

Jade is more hands on, which no matter whether you want the guy to coach us or not is what i want from a coach. And

Alot us supporters do go to training and watch , observe things then rely on internet postings. Ones that live in Melbourne
