The Official "RFC Coaching Position" Discussion Thread

Not at all convinced by Jade. Frankly, around 8-10 of the boys (including Titch, Jake, Hislop) would be sh!tting themselves about their wherabouts next year, which has probably more to do with the improved effort.

We need someone who will be absolutely uncompromising about preparation, tackling, 2nd efforts - and foot skills.

Malthouse Coach, Rawling assistant and first in line down the track as Micks successor ....... in the words of Bruce "delicious"

(with the additional benefit of p!ssing off all collingwood too of course!)

But won't happen

When Wallace left the pressure valve came off. It really doesnt matter whether Jade wins or loses - it is all about how he handles himself, changes he makes etc.

It is a big difference coaching a side when you are under contract and ex[ectations are HIGH. At the moment, playing the kids - expectations have been LOW, so has the pressure. Hence they have been playing more freely.

Dont fall into the GEESH trap - as stated above.

*Do you get the impression Mitch "Tickets" Morton looks at himself in the mirror for hours on end each morning ?

That's a laugh coming from Mr Rainsy "edit: I'm ALWAYS right" Baby himself.

And how that's relevant to the RFC coaching position I have no idea.

Richmond caretaker coach Jade Rawlings desperate to stay on....

Todays article in the Hearld Sun clarifies how keen JR is to coach Richmond 2010 and beyond! Hearld Sun article.

Jade Rawlings: "People who know me well will understand how much it means for me to coach this footy club," he said. "I feel confident about what I can do. I am improving every week."

I was surprised to read that post-match he threatened Brett Deledio with demotion to Coburg only three weeks ago.

Whilst I'm very wary of the Unleash the Giesch senario I think Rawlings has been great. Must admit I was skeptical when he was appointed however;

1. He started with a bang making calls Wallace didn't have the Kahuna's to make in 4 years;

2. We have seen substantial improvement in guys like Lids, Tambling, and Edwards in 4 weeks, more than we saw in 4 years under Wallet.

3. He is playing guys like Lids in the midfield and setting them challenges;

5. Who'd have thought we'd have seen Vickery as 1st ruck in his first season. Wouldn't have happened under Wallace.

6. I noticed on the weekend those dicky little backwards handballs have all but disappeared from our game plan.

Now he has to win the job on merit, through the process and if thats the case then good luck to him, but we have the best field of candidates that have presented for a Richmond Coaching Job in 15 years so we need to get this one right.

agree, infact all that backwards crap has disappeared.

God yes......that used to infuriate me...noticed Essendon got themselves into the same quagmire a few times while imitating that particular bad habit.

What happened to 4? Is this something against Raines?

Bit off topic but has there ever been a coach who in his 1st 2 yrs won 2 wooden spoons & kept his job ?

It's a new age FT. Coaches who do that get contract extensions now! Choo choo!!

My god KB just stated that Jade is a shoe in for the RFC job because he has 2 1/2 wins and North now have a Melbourne cup field to choose from.

::)

Just proves he has no idea.

KB needs to have both hands where we can see them.
Just because Sheeds didnt get our job doesnt mean he has to hold another 30 year grudge.

Well thats Jade done :-\

So far KB has said the only man Richmond should sign is Malthouse, then it was Sheeds, now it is Rawlings. Poor bugger doesn't stand a chance now with that success rate :hihi

LMAO at people getting carried away with Rawlings. We've beaten the West Coast Tankers who have zero interest in winning and admittedly a good win against Essenscum.

However, we blew a 7 goal half time lead against the Roos, didn't even score for more than 2 quarters against St.Kilda and lost the other two games. No doubt we are playing better than under Wallarse (no great achievement in itself) but he's got a hell of a long way to go before he could be considered the next coach of Richmond.

Bartlett, as much as he is a RFC legend, is now a senile old fool.

Spot on Ridley, i'm not anti Rawlings but for people to start jumping up and down to sign Rawlings is not right.... not yet anyway. Had the dons kicked a goal in their last forward push, would we be saying "Why can't Jade get the team to play 4 quarters?" I would like to have a 4 quarter effort before i'm satisfied with Jade.

cmon you lot we dont need a development coach we are clearly aiming for the 8 next season and apparently we have the list to do it.list development is done and the players are ready. pick 7 and two other draft picks should be all we need come draft time.
