After last year, I'm not writing off our finals chances.

I am, said at the start of then season to family and friends that haven't improved the list from 2014 to 2015, relying on internal development. something we haven't excel at.

Im not sure I want us to make finals this year.

Has the potential to paper over the cracks.

A bad season may be the reality check the club needs on a lot of fronts. Lets face it, we are a long way short of the best sides. A long way. A lot needs to happen to get us to that level.

I fear the club has deluded themselves into thinking we are closer than what we really are, when reality is we are miles away.

I don't understand this thinking - what if Geelong thought that through their slump in the mid 2000's (before they thrashed us), turned their season around and have not looked back (till around now).

As Carnthetiges says, if we can win against North and do it convincingly for the first time in a very long time - then we do have winnable games against Collingwood and Essendon coming up. I know there are lots of ifs, and for the record, I am not sure they will or can do it, but I much rather this group turn it around (and be surprised) than have to start again which is what it feels a lot of people on here are barracking for.

That's just the difference between the head and the heart YOTT. I always hope the Tiges will win, sometimes I just know they won't.

Next week if we beat Port (they are a rabble) and freo beat North in WA - we should be back in the top 8.

:rofl. We beat Collingwood today. They are crap. I look forward to your synopsis after the game next week against a so called rabble.

We play the two immediately below us next 2 weeks. Evidence if we have turned any corner or are just acce rating towards a brick wall.
BTW any insight into ports drop off?

By the way

Having beat Collingwood for the first time in a long while
WHo else do we need to knock off?

Geelong
Last beat them in 2006
(lost last 11)

North
Last beat them in 2011
(lost last 5)

2013
Melbourne (lost 2)
Bulldogs (lost 2)

Freo (lost 1)
Suns (lost 1)
Hawks (lost 1)

We've got to make sure we've got some good footy ready for round 22!
And the week after that one as well!!

A win next week and that Freo game looks huge, especially with our good record at Subiaco.

So, we beat Port, again, who seem to be back to true form
after their three week footy exhibition last September.

Next we've got Essendon. They've been patchy and haven't shown a lot.
Both teams will want this one desperately. I'm expecting a type of game and result similar to the last two weeks.
Go tigers!

Dedicated to pre-poster Tommy H.

The longer Freo go without a loss the more likely they are to drop one as the pressure increases, no reason it can't be against us.

gee aren't people getting cocky again after a couple of wins. I guess a win last night keep us interested, but falling into 7th or 8th place again won't satisfy me one bit.

No - enjoying a win for what it is. Given the season is still relatively young, you have to make the 8 FIRST before you embark on climbing up to 5th or 6th and/or going for top 4 (which seems a long way off but given the evenness of the comp this year - it may not be impossible).

Are you complaining that we are in the 8 (on percentage)

Me either, but it's a different story if we win a final from there. This is one of the evenest seasons I can remember. The current final 8 is Freo, West Coast, Sydney, GWS, Collingwood, Crows, Hawthorn, Richmond. North, Essendon, Port, Geelong and the Dogs are all just out of it. Historically there aren't generally more than one change from this point on. Do you think that will still be the case this year? This one is wide open.

Confidence is a powerful wave.

Particularly so with our bunch of undergrad minds.

Whatever happens with the game plan you feel the players are gearing up for another ride.
