The Dusty 300th celebration thread

I’ve been thinking hard about the early moments, before we and he were great and there’s a few thoughts I’ll post tomorrow.

But I wouldn’t be shocked if a media release comes out Friday night that this is it for him. No fanfare, he just walks away.

Now that I think about it, he’s looking at Dustin with a recruiter’s eye. He might be a good one. Wonder if we can prise him out of Adelaide.
no chance he is very happy to raise his young family back home around his.

Question
Who was the scum reporter who put that photo up in that scummy newspaper of dusty in a strip club or some such place ?

And then they have the gall to whine about him giving the media a wide berth this week, or any time.

It has been so satisfying to see someone finally have the balls to give the private school circle-jerk AFL media boys club the middle finger and contempt they deserve for a change, instead of caving to the fake niceties they'd have no doubt showered him with this week as a means to getting an interview.

If that's the one about Dusty giving the stripper a little titty jiggle at the private end of season party, it wasn't just a photo n ya can blame the friend with the phone for sharing it onto social meedjia.

Ralph Carr says Duz predicted we win the 2017 flag one year earlier. Wow.

I had a bit of a chuckle at that bit.

I bet Richo told his manager 'well win the flag next year' fourteen times

As long as it doesn't look like that.

their graphics bloke should be sacked.

looks like they photoshopped a Richmond jumper and a footy on a traffic controller.

lazy

ABC story today article about resting dusty says the Adelaide win

'is a sign things might be FINALLY on the improve at Tigerland' :ROFLMAO:

(note to Daniel Miles - its 20 months since the dodgiest goal review in history prevented our 4th flag in 6 years; one and a half seasons does not constitute a success drought, a bottoming out, a prolonged deficiency. however you dice it young'n, you need to be better at the basics of your craft)

I liked Caro calling out the tinge of negativity on the Dusty commentary, people can't resist the urge to tear him down a bit. As part of that, I don't buy the Danger is more consistent narrative. Its a myth. Its based on Dusty's best being so good that anything under that is perceived as a quiet game, when it isn't. The data would show both players are consistent, and champions. Dustys stats MIGHT have a bit bigger spread than Dangers, but it wouldn't be much and Dusty's worst games are still elite. But Dusty is inarguably superior because unlike Danger he elevates his game according to how much we need him and how big the occasion.

This is the thing that the media is missing in the discussion about him not giving interviews. It is not only about him being media shy, although that is definitely part of it, a big part of it is that he doesn't trust them.

He has good reason not to.

Every geelong person i know freely admits danger isnt fit to carry dustys boots.

Its a very strange comparison and bizarre that Matthews propogated it.

Dusty wouldnt care. It annoys me, but i dont really care.

I know that

1. Dustin Martin is the greatest footy player ever and
2. He coincided his greatness with me raising a family and we were there, and will continue to be there, to watch all the great moment live. He feels like a member of our family.

Just writing that brings tears to my eyes.

What fortune. What times.

Dustin Martin; the greatest footy player ever

Tony shaw, trying his damndest to say Dusty is the Greeatest

'"When you win three Norm Smith Medals, not many have won two. To win three, at the top level, he will go down – and he should go down – as probably the best big-game player the game has ever seen. There's no doubt. No doubt."

should, probably, no doubt

hahahahahahaha

Free 10 second Journo/Commentator Workshop on how to correctly and gracefully assess Dustin Martin

Say 'Dustin Martin is the best footy player who ever graced the earth'

or for the millennial attendees

'#Dusty is the GOAT period'

(can we get a menstruating goat emoji minted for the occasion?)
