I'm just gonna skip your posts I reckon cause ya got some odd ball ideas.
I think the risk for Hopper was tainted by the desire to get Taranto. I think he was worth chasing. If getting them both was necessary to get one, back 2 years ago - I'm not sure I'd say no either.
We sucked for contested ball, and I'd have expected Hopper to help. His game before the hammy was good, he had moments last year of being very good.
My mind wonders how much is Hoppers's body stuffed and how much compounded by our medical team, who aren't covering themselves in glory right now. I think Hopper can be a piece of the puzzle, provided we get speed run/carry around him. What we paid for in trades for him.....F grading from me.
As for Dimma wanting him.....I've got more chance of getting Elle McPherson to take me on a date.
I will struggle General but I think I will get by..
IIn case you bother with this one let me take you back.
As I recall I.was one of a handful, not including yourself? who opposed the purchase of Hopper. (Your idea that we might have taken Hopper and his problems primarily in order to secure Taranto, seems as insulting to our recruiters as Zips has ever managed)
My major concern at the time was the cost. The use of a future 1st is imo ALWAYS a colossal mistake but supported as it was here by those who reasoned that we were again a certainty to finish top 4.
Just plain foolishness, especially given Dimma's on going and totally misguided commitment to, 'chaos", during 21 and 22.
There were at least two other issues which also were of concern. First was his injury history with him not playing in the latter half of 22 as a result of a foot injury coupled with GWS willingness to move to trade .. Gee I wonder what they knew that we didn't.
And the third was something which I had also been banging on about and that was concerning the need to focus on speed and disposal and address the changes in the game bought in by Hocking, (which bought a new emphasis on both of those matters)
Not saying I attached both of these needs to a failure in Hoppers game at that time, but of course it is on the list now.
Too much of a sameness with Taranto, even when fit.
Five years to go and believe we should accept that he is worth much less than we paid and move to trade him, asap.
