Team v Gold Coast

For all the punting tigers out there we are rank outsiders in the first two games.
Suns $1.45. Tigers $2.70
Blues $1.40 Tigers $2.75

Very surprised by this, with the suns preseason form I thought we'd start favourites. The blues game is still 50/50 maybe they would start favourites on last years form.
Obviously we are not seen as any kind of threat this year by the wider public.
I definitely think we can win the Suns game and the blues game is 50/50.
Great value v blues without Walsh and Weithering
Bookies basing the odds on that umps will impose themselves if the games are close ensuring a GC win

respectfully fellas,

we have an AFL punting thread, where kids probably dont go, and that Sportsbet doesn't sponsor.

Feels anticlimactic having our opening game in Queensland.

feel more climactic than Battlestar Climactica

to me and @spook, @Mopsy, @BrisTiger24 , @tigersnake and all them

got a bit of a Great Gabba GF feel about it

we should bring back the PRE match report thread?

any volunteers want to run a season thread?

I'll happily kick off round 0, should be a bit to work with? (spoiler alert: at the end, someone lands a big thick spicy pork sausage right down Dimmas arse crack)

Bit of Rain Saturday, Humidity around 75% when the game is about to start. Pretty hot to be playing footy. 28 top temp
28 and cloud cover is better than sun.. & some wind will keep humidity down.

in some ways , player adjustment is easier in Feb, March. I've seen our AFLW team play about this time of year

Maybe come up a day or 2 earlier to acclimatise?

Crank up the heaters in the weights room?

Where was the preseason camp? MIldura? Some of the boys went to Darwin.

Dont worry rd1 is still the tradtional Rd 1 clash v the Blues.

Yes you can picture the conversation

AFL head honcho #1 - I am really over Richmond having the opening game every year. How do we get over the promise we made to Brendan Gale to make him pull out of the race for AFL CEO?

AFL head honcho #2 - how about having a split round before round 1, drawing games for future rounds and calling it Round zero. That way Richmond keeps the opening game of round 1 as promised.

I'm not as climactic as you Easy. I feel as though I'm off to see a pre season game on Saturday. It's too hot and the season is starting too early and all I can think about is sitting there sweating my balls off at 3pm on a March afternoon

hahahaha, yeah im not exactly jumping out of my skin either.

I wasn't even gonna go a fortnight ago, but something started stirring.

I think it was a few Godwick clips on insta, and I got manipulated by the AFL contrived rivalry narrative.

still, im sure we'll perk up significantly if we demolish the *smile*.

it has been a relentlessly humid *smile* of a summer.

It’s unfathomable this round 0 business

Imagine supporting one of the other ten clubs. You wait six months and get served four interstate games no neutrals give two *smile* about.

AFL took a bag from the northern state governments? Otherwise it’s blowing your goddam foot off with a shotgun

I am looking forward to going on Saturday. But like others can’t get my head around that it’s for 4 points.

They are predicting 90% humidity. Us Melbournians might be in strife half way through the game.

it feels to me like autumn has arrived up here Aces. has been a brutally humid summer and my house looks like a penicillin factory.

But I think it will be perfect conditions for football.

back in our 2020 GF home, I reckon we thump them. 60+.

if it is humid, take in 200ml of white rum hand sanitiser and pour a generous measure in a $5 can of coke.

thats my Queensland routine; Covid's little silver lining.
